Goody is potentially one of the most well-known housemates to have come from the Big Brother house.

Born in London, Goody first rose to prominence when she appeared on the third season of Big Brother, where she placed fourth in the finale episode. She was initially criticised by the British press due to her supposed lack of intelligence and her "rough around the edges" personality; even being labelled "Britian's Most Hated Woman" at one point.

Goody appeared on the fifth season of Celebrity Big Brother in 2007 which resulted in her most negative publicity so far. During the show's run, Goody was seen using racially insensitive terms towards housemate Indian actress, Shilpa Shetty. The show received a record number of complaints and Goody was the subject of intense scrutiny from the British press and public over her comments. Also involved in the incident were former S Club 7 singer, Jo O'Meara and model, Danielle Lloyd. Shetty didn't end up lodging any official complaints about racist behaviour however Goody was dropped from various campaigns, including an Anti-Bullying Campaign, and continued to receive criticism. Goody would apologise repeatedly over the incident, claiming she meant no racist hatred towards Shetty. She later appeared on the Indian version of Big Brother, Bigg Boss.

Two days into her appearance on Bigg Boss, Goody was diagnosed with cervical cancer and exited the house to return to the UK. Sadly, Goody passed away at the age of 27 when her cancer spread further in 2008, leaving behind her husband, Jack and her two young sons.

Goody was widely praised for bringing attention to the very necessary need for cervical screening for women in the UK with authorities sharing that screenings had risen, in particular for women aged between 25-29.

As well as her appearance on Big Brother, Goody had released two fragrances, an autobiography and appearances on Stars in Their Eyes, a reality documentary Living With Jade Goody and pantomime shows.

  • Catchphrase: Goody had accidentally assumed East Anglia (an area in the east of England) was abroad and mispronounced it as "East Angula".
  • Dark and Troubled Past: Goody's mother struggled with substance abuse and her father was a pimp with a drug problem, who passed away from an overdose.
  • The Ditz: Goody was not known for being the most intelligent however she received very unfair and nasty criticisms from the British press. People she went to school with spoke that she wasn't as stupid as everyone made her out to be.
