[[folder:Heroine]]
[[quoteright:250:http://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/heroine.png]]

-> Voiced by Creator/KaoriNazuka (Japanese) and Maggie Flecknoe (English)

The protagonist of the game.\\
She lost her memories when Orion crashed into her and accidentally merged with her soul, and now the two have to return to 'the world that feels most familiar' and figure out what her situation is, and work on regaining her memories.

The worlds in question are the various routes the player can pick. Each world has its own background for the heroine, with her circumstances and the reason for her amnesia in that world differing. One consistent factor is that she is a first-year university student and works at the ''Meido to Shitsuji'' café.
----
* AdaptationDyeJob: Her hair is a light-brown color, though the anime added a pink gradient to the tips.
* AmnesiacHero: Her memories were pushed out when Orion merged with her soul.
* AmnesiacLover: Each route has her be the girlfriend of the guy associated with it. [[spoiler:Except in Ukyo's route.]]
* AudienceSurrogate: Lacks any proper personality, so it's easier for the player to insert themselves.
* BreakTheCutie: Several routes put her through hell. [[spoiler:She suffers from bullying and harassment in one route, then stalking and imprisonment in another. And those are the less severe problems.]]
* CanineCompanion: She had a dog named Kuro in Clover World. [[spoiler:He got hit by a car and died sometime before the start of that route, and Kent's very rational, emotion-less view about it was the cause of their fight.]]
* ChildhoodFriends: With Shin and Toma. How close they are depends on the route.
* CoverIdentityAnomaly: Played with, as she is always the person belonging in that route's world, but her amnesia causes her to forget details and mess them up.
* DeadAllAlong: [[spoiler:Joker World reveals her to be this, but was saved due to time rewinding because of Ukyo's intense wish of saving her.]]
* EverythingTryingToKillYou: Cars and motorcycles almost run her over, crazy fangirls are willing to physically harm and kill her, and Ukyo doesn't mind to kill her himself. [[spoiler:Joker World has Ukyo reveal that this is due to her having died in the original universe, and since she shouldn't be alive anymore, the universe is now trying to throw anything it can at her to fix this.]]
* ExtremeDoormat
** Spade World gives her a broad streak of this when it comes to Ikki and his fangirls. [[spoiler:She actually needs to ''apologize'' to Ikki for not waiting for him at her home, but instead choosing to go look for him because he's incredibly late for a date, and finds him doing his flirtation routine with his fangirls in front of her house.]]
** Diamond World shoves her firmly into this category. [[spoiler:She gets drugged, manipulated, and locked into a cage by Toma because of his skewed views of 'protecting' her from harm. The Good Ending even has her easily forgive him for attempting to rape her.]]
* FateWorseThanDeath: Some of the Bad Endings leave her with one, even if she actually survives. [[spoiler:One noticeable example is in Spade World, when Ikki's rabid fangirls attack the heroine in the forest, and she's stuck in a hospital bed, implied to have been rendered comatose by whatever they did.]]
* FlowerMotifs: Gets symbolized through flowers, like the air hockey minigame, and wears roses on her clothes.
* FreudianExcuse: Spade World reveals that she used to tell Ikki off for being full of himself and a complete playboy, before she lost her memories. In that world, her father acted the same way, and she hated him.
* HelloInsertNameHere: The player gets to choose her name.
* HeroicMime: None of her few lines in the game are voiced.
* IllGirl: Has a [[SickEpisode sick event]] in Ikki's route, and other routes mention that she easily gets ill.
* InvisibleParents: Her parents never physically appear, except for her father near the end of Spade World.
* KillTheCutie: Several of the Bad Endings involve her getting killed.
* TheManyDeathsOfYou: Several Bad Endings have her killed in various ways. Stabbed to the chest and crushed under a building structure are the more mundane ones. Joker World had her get into an accident in a science lab, and dying in the hospital a few weeks later. [[spoiler:And that's not getting into the ways that Ukyo kills her directly.]]
* {{Meido}}: Works as a maid in the ''Meido to Shitsuji'' café, though the café uses a very Japanese-styled maid attire in the form of a kimono and apron.
* NiceGirl: The only personality trait the heroine shares in all the worlds is being a sweet, kind and helpful.
* NiceHat: Wears a black beret adorned with a few roses and a white ribbon.
* NoNameGiven
** The player chooses her name, as she has no [[CanonName official name]].
** The anime expanded her amnesia to include having forgotten her name.
* ObliviousToLove: Diamond World has her be oblivious to the fact that Toma has loved her for quite some time.
* OperationJealousy: Downplayed for Diamond World. Prior to losing her memories, the heroine was working on making herself prettier, and asking Ikki for advice on how to get noticed by Toma, because she wanted him to fall in love with her and date him. [[spoiler:Unfortunately, Toma misunderstood this and thought she started dating Ikki.]]
* TheQuietOne: Barely talks in the games, except for some choices and near the end of the route.
* ShrinkingViolet: Appears like this because of being the quiet type.
* SilkHidingSteel: Downplayed, as she shows signs of inner strength in non-doormat routes. She can withstand Ikki's hypnotic gaze, and was lead singer of a band in Heart World, where Shin's brutal criticism also made her decide to improve her singing significantly.
* TooDumbToLive: Some of the events and choices are downright idiotic and often lead her into getting killed. [[spoiler:Noticeable examples are choosing to spend the night with Ukyo in Heart World, and revealing her connection with Orion to Ukyo in Joker World.]]

!! Main Love Interests

[[folder:Shin]]
[[quoteright:300:http://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/amnesia_shin.png]]

-> Voiced by Creator/TetsuyaKakihara (Japanese) and Houston Hayes (English)

The boyfriend of the Heart World.\\
Shin is one year younger than the heroine and currently 17 years old, and is studying to prepare for college-entry exams. Despite being rude and often times cruel with his words, he always tries his best for the heroine.

In every route except his own, he works as a chef in the ''Meido to Shitsuji'' café.
----
* AllGirlsWantBadBoys: Averted in his route. His appearance invokes the image and his forceful behavior, brutal honesty towards the heroine, and his family history, leads many outsiders to consider this to be the basis for his relationship with her. However, Shin is not a bad boy and much kinder than he initially appears.
* BrutalHonesty: Extremely blunt with his words and refuses to lie to spare anyone's feelings. For his route, this honesty is [[spoiler:a reason why the heroine chose to date him. His criticism enabled and gave her the incentive to improve herself]].
* ChildhoodFriendRomance: Shin and the heroine are dating in his route.
* ClearMyName: His route has the heroine fall off a slopey cliff, and Shin gets suspected of having shoved her down on purpose. Everyone works on trying to clear his name and prove that it really was just an accident. [[spoiler:Her fall really was an accident, though her further injuries came from Toma, who found and injured her in a fit of enraged jealousy.]]
* CruelToBeKind: Most people are willing to lie in order to spare someone's feelings, but Shin does not do that. He sees no point in doing that, when he could help someone improve by bluntly telling them what they did wrong.
* DeclarationOfProtection: Gives the heroine one in his route.
* {{Determinator}}: Spends most of his route determined to help the heroine regain her memories[[spoiler: and get Toma to confess his role in her losing them to begin with]].
* DisappearedDad: His father got drunk and into a heated discussion with another drunk man, whom he then punched and accidentally killed. As such, his father has been convicted of involuntary manslaughter and is in prison.
* ForcefulKiss: Gives the heroine several of them in his route. He holds back when he realizes she lost her memories.
* HiddenDepths: Despite his 'bad boy' appearance, Shin enjoys studying and learning. He's also very observant and easily figured out that the heroine had lost her memories.
* HoldingHands: Has no qualms about kissing the heroine, but doesn't like holding hands.
* JerkWithAHeartOfGold: As mean as he can come across, his heart is always in the right place.
* LuminescentBlush: Sports one whenever the heroine does something that he considers cute.
* LoveTriangle: His route has him in a Type 4 with the heroine and Toma. Both of them have been in love with the heroine for quite some time, with the heroine and Shin beginning a relationship after he confessed to her. [[spoiler:Toma retained his unconfessed feelings, and her choosing Shin over him leads to her almost getting killed at the lodge.]]
* MisunderstoodLonerWithAHeartOfGold: After his father was sent to prison, most people misjudged Shin and believed him to be violent, and treated him like an outcast. Part of the reason why he cares for the heroine so much is that, despite all the rumors about him, she and Toma always stuck by his side.
* NotSoDifferent: Shin and Toma both care very deeply for the heroine, and tend to butt heads on how to best protect her, but agree on being kind through harsh means. They differ in their approach, with Shin seeming cruel through words, and Toma cruel through actions.
* OnlySaneMan: Played for drama, especially when it comes to Diamond World, where he points out how insane some of Toma's actions are and tries to help the heroine. And compared to the other love interests, his personality and attitude is more realistic.
* TheRival: Ends up having this relationship with Toma in their respective routes.
* SpotlightStealingSquad: Despite his not being the True Route, Shin often gets featured prominently on covers or merchandise. [[spoiler:Likely due to Ukyo being a 'secret' character, though this only applies to the first game.]]
* TheStoic: Downplayed, as he's definitely on the reserved side and isn't very expressive, but not emotionless.
* {{Tsundere}}: Type A towards the heroine, though it's more a case of playful teasing.

-> Voiced by Creator/KisshoTaniyama (Japanese) and Creator/BlakeShepard (English)

The boyfriend of the Spade World.\\
Ikki is 22 years old and a fourth-year university student. He is the most popular butler at the ''Meido to Shitsuji'' café, and several regulars are women that have fallen for him.

He even has a fanclub of girls that come to meet him after work every day.
----
* BeCarefulWhatYouWishFor: When he was a child, he wished to be popular. This resulted in him gaining a hpynotic gaze, which causes any woman that looks him in the eyes to fall in love with him.
* BlessedWithSuck: Women easily fall in love with him, but now he has a growing base of fangirls following him.
* TheCasanova: Most of his relationships never last longer than three months. [[spoiler:Unbeknownst to him, this has to do with his fanclub having very strict rules when one of them is dating him. And one of those rules is that the relationship may not extend three months, so that 'others can have their turn'.]]
* ChickMagnet: Any woman that has direct eye-contact with him falls in love.
* ChivalrousPervert: Ikki talks a big game around the heroine, has a rumor-filled history of romances, and makes no shortage of innuedos, but he respects the boundaries of the women he dates. Part of this may come from Ikki using physical affection as a substitute for romantic attraction.
* CoolShades: Usually wears them to keep more women from falling for him.
* CurtainsMatchTheWindows: Light-blue hair and eyes that are a darker shade of blue.
* FacialMarkings: Has a spade painted on his left cheekbone.
* HairDecorations: Wears a spade-shaped clip.
* HandsOnApproach: One of his [=CGs=] has him do this, to show the heroine how to make a parfait.
* HiddenDepths: In spite of his reputation as a casanova, Ikki is actually very kind and considerate. He also enjoys math and often has 'duels' with Kent, where they give each other difficult math problems to solve, and is studying to be an accountant.
* HypnoticEyes: Somehow has a hypnotic gaze that causes any woman that looks at him to fall in love with him instantly, and it's completely beyond his control. He wears sunglasses very often to keep himself from getting mobbed, and even that has limited success.
* IJustWantToBeLoved: He's tired of the shallow affection from fangirls, and just wants a long-lasting relationship.
* ILoveYouBecauseICantControlYou: Spade World has him getting more attracted to the heroine because she appears to be immune to his gaze.
* InstantFanclub: His fanclub accosts him before work and waits in front of the café for his shift to be over, but keep themselves outside because they don't want to be a burden on him while working.
* LadyKillerInLove: His route has him begin to find honest love with the heroine.
* LongDistanceRelationship: His Normal Ending leaves his relationship with the heroine as this[[spoiler: because she's moving away to live with her parents again]]. Ikki thinks, though, that the distance will cause their relationship to sour.
* LookingForLoveInAllTheWrongPlaces: He wants to find a meaningful, long-term relationship with someone, and has dated several of the girls in his fanclub. [[spoiler:Worst place to look, as the fangirls keep a close tally on those relationships. The girlfriend needs to give daily reports on what went down, and the relationship is pre-determined to only last three months, so that the next fanclub member can have a relationship with him.]]
* OnlyKnownByTheirNickname: Ikki is actually a nickname. His full name is Ikkyu, and Kent is the only one to call him that. And in his route, the heroine has him saved in her phone as Ikkyu.
* OddFriendship: His friendship with Kent is viewed as this. Their relationship only came into being because Kent was curious about Ikki's 'condition', which goes against his sense of reason, but they clearly care about the other. And they share a love for math.
* SoBeautifulItsACurse: Almost everyone that looks him in the eyes becomes smitten with him, and he feels extremely isolated from actual, friendly interactions. And his fanclub turns out to be a real threat to those that they consider 'overstepping the boundaries'.
* TechnicolorEyes: The anime increased the odd color mixture of his eyes when compares to the game.
* UnwantedHarem: He doesn't mind being kind to his fanclub, but he'd prefer if they left him alone. Especially when it comes to his actually wanting to properly date someone.
* VitriolicBestBuds: Has a mild case of this with Kent.
* YouGottaHaveBlueHair: His hair is a pale, almost-white blue.

[[folder:Kent]]
[[quoteright:250:http://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/kent.png]]

-> Voiced by Creator/AkiraIshida (Japanese) and Tyler Galindo (English)

The boyfriend of the Clover World.\\
Kent is 25 years old and was a math tutor for the heroine's class for some time. His loves math and solving math problems in his spare time. He believes everything can be solved through the means of logic and reason.

He works at the ''Meido to Shitsuji'' café in certain routes.
----
* {{Adorkable}}: Comes across as very stiff and cold, but this comes from an inexperience in terms of romantic relationships, and he does want to spend a lot of time with the heroine. Even if that is spent in silence.
* AffectionateNickname: Gets called 'Ken' by Ikki.
* AmbiguousDisorder: His utter lack of social skills seems to indicate this. According to his family, it's genetic.
* BelligerentSexualTension: Deconstructed, as this was what his and the heroine's relationship was like before she lost her memories. Kent's aggressively logical and analytical approach to emotional matters and the heroine's reluctance to fully open up about her feelings for him caused them to be ''incapable'' of having a conversation that didn't result into arguing with each other. It isn't until she loses her memories, and has no inhibition to keep her feelings contained, that the two become able to actually communicate with and understand each other.
* TheBigGuy: The tallest of the love interests.
* BrutalHonesty: Even more brutal with his honesty than Shin, as Kent would consider anything but blunt words to be inefficient in terms of time and communication.
* DemotedToExtra: Kent only got one episode focusing on his route. The others got two.
* HugeGuyTinyGirl: Has to pretty much bow down to kiss the heroine.
* IKissYourHand: One of his [=CGs=] in the first game.
* LackOfEmpathy: Kent doesn't exactly lack empathy, but his rational and logical outlook on life clashes with emotional matters, and he comes across like this. [[spoiler:This was why the heroine, still emotionally reeling from her dog's death, actually told Kent that she hated him.]] His route involves him growing out of his extreme views and considering the emotional side of things.
* {{Megane}}: The only bespectacled love interest in the first game.
* NoSocialSkills: Has difficulty talking normally with people because he's always thinking with cold logic.
* OddFriendship: His friendship with Ikki, though both enjoy solving difficult math problems. Lots of people consider it weird that the casanova is friends with this stoic, rational guy that seems to not care about romance at all.
* SharedFamilyQuirks: Both of his parents also have an ultra-rational outlook on things.
* SmartPeopleWearGlasses: Was the tutor for the heroine's study club, and is shown to solve mathematical puzzles.
* TheSpock: Everything he does is done with an extremely logical approach, which leads to others distancing themselves from him. He's more concerned with logic than emotion, though his route has him work on letting more of his feelings show through his interactions with the heroine.
* TooManyBelts: His [[http://img2.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20130115223718/amnesia-anime/images/6/63/Amnesia_kent.png full]] model shows his outfit to have them.
* VitriolicBestBuds: Has a mild version of this with Ikki.
* [[YouGottaHaveBlueHair You Gotta Have Green Hair]]: Downplayed, only the tips of his hair are green.

The boyfriend of the Diamond World.\\
Toma is older than the heroine and currently 20 years old, and a second-year university student. He's studying law to become a prosecutor. Toma cares deeply for the heroine and wishes for nothing more than to protect her.

Toma works as a butler at the ''Meido to Shitsuji'' café.
----
* AttemptedRape: On the path to his Good Ending, it's heavily implied that Toma was about to rape the heroine [[spoiler:because she got out of the cage he was 'keeping her safe in']]. The conveniently-falling diary distracts him long enough to defuse the situation.
* BewareTheNiceOnes: Outside of his own or Shin's route, Toma comes across as a genuinely sweet, brotherly type of nice person. He cares for the heroine and Shin, seeing them as not just childhood friends, but also like younger siblings, that he holds dear. [[spoiler:Shin's route shows that his kind exterior belies him being bad with rejection, to the point that he lashed out at the heroine and accidentally worsened her injuries. And his own route increases on this, where he takes his protective streak for her way too far, and that he has some problems restraining his desire of wanting the heroine for himself and protect her from harm.]]
* BigBrotherMentor: Has this attitude towards Shin and the heroine.
* ChildhoodFriendRomance: Becomes this with the heroine in his Good Ending.
* CrazyJealousGuy: Shin's route reveals him to have these aspects. [[spoiler:His anger at the heroine choosing Shin over him, and that she mistook him for Shin when he finds her injured at the base of a cliff, caused him to lash out at her and worsen her injuries.]]
* CruelToBeKind: Toma certainly wants to keep the heroine safe from harm, but he goes about this the wrong way. [[spoiler:He drugs her food and drink to keep her at his home, proceeds to isolate her from everyone by taking her cellphone away, and even locks her into a cage to keep her 'safe', at all times.]] One scene even has him ask if the heroine hates him for his actions.
* CreepyShadowedUndereyes: Sports these when truly angered. [[spoiler:And hinting that his Yandere tendencies have been triggered.]]
* CurtainsMatchTheWindow: Golden-blond hair and golden eyes.
* GildedCage: [[spoiler:Believes the cage he locks the heroine into is this. It's large enough that she can stretch, and he fills it with plush toys and makes sure she's comfortable, brings her food and lets her go to the bathroom and wash herself, as long as he keeps an eye on her.]]
* HairDecorations: Wears a black headband.
* HairOfGoldHeartOfGold: Averted, as his attitude may indicate this. But looking below the sweet personality, he proves to be anything but nice.
* HeroicSelfDeprecation: Shows signs of this on his route. Claims to be the worst, and having absolutely no redeeming qualities outside of his good looks. This is also why he believed there's no way the heroine would fall in love with him.
* HiddenDepths: Not all that glitters is gold, and Toma certainly proves this by turning out to have a very dark side to his sunny disposition. On the more mundane side, as fun-loving as he looks, he's studying to become a prosecutor.
* IDidWhatIHadToDo: How Toma justifies [[spoiler:the drugging and imprisoning]] to the heroine and himself. Though he also says that he doesn't expect to be forgiven for his actions.
* KarmaHoudini
** Averted, when it comes to Shin's Good Ending. [[spoiler:Toma turns himself into the police for injuring the heroine.]]
** Played straight, for his own Good Ending. [[spoiler:Turns out that the heroine has loved him for as long as he has loved her, this odd little 'misunderstanding' has been cleared, and the two begin a romantic relationship. The whole ordeal of having been drugged and imprisoned gets swept under the rug.]]
* TheKindnapper: [[spoiler:Keeps the heroine prisoner at his home, having decided it's the only way to protect her.]]
* LyingToProtectYourFeelings: Where he differs from Shin, who prefers brutal honesty. Toma will always lie, if he thinks that it will keep the heroine happy.
* MaskOfSanity: Every route protrays Toma as very kind and stable, reasonable in most situations and helpful to everyone. His own route, and near the end of Shin's route, [[spoiler:he starts to openly show his true face, indicating that he's really good at hiding his instability]]. There is one Bad Ending on Ukyo's route where Toma slips up.
* NiceGuy: Played with, as Toma generally gets portrayed as a kind and helpful, older brother type of person. Most noticeable in Ikki's route, where he's the heroine stepbrother. But in his own route and near the end of Shin's route, he proves to not be so nice.
* ObliviousToLove: Prior to having lost her memories, the heroine was working at making Toma notice her romantically. Toma was too busy trying to hide his own, long-standing feelings for her, and misunderstood. Had either of them managed to make their feelings clear, all of the problems in Toma's route could have been avoided.
* TheRival: Considers Shin his rival, though most noticeable on that guy's route.
* StepfordSmiler: Has elements of this, being typically cheerful and kind. There are moments where his smile slips, though, and his behavior switches to the other side.
* WellIntentionedExtremist: In his mind, his actions are justified for keeping the heroine safe.
* WhatTheHellHero: On his route, Shin asks Toma what he's playing at. Keeping the heroine in his home to keep her safe from the harassment of Ikki's fans, when the two are not even dating. [[spoiler:Shin calls him out again about his more extreme measures in Toma's Normal Ending.]]
* {{Yandere}}: [[spoiler:Towards the heroine.]]

The boyfriend of the Joker World.\\
Ukyo is 24 years old and a photographer. He's travelled the world and lived in various countries as part of his family life and job. He seems to know the heroine in all routes, but remains very distant in all but his own.
----
* AnotherSideAnotherStory: His route only unlocks once the player has successfully completed the other four routes.
* AxCrazy: His murderous side easily comes off as this.
* BeCarefulWhatYouWishFor: [[spoiler:Ukyo begged Lord Neil to save the heroine from death, and allow for him to be with her again, even if this means that she can't remember him. The problem is that, even if he lets her be happy with another man, the full wish cannot be fulfilled. And Ukyo recalls every world where the heroine died by his hands or fell in love with someone else, and then dies in her place because their existence in the same timeline is an anomaly.]]
* CameraFiend: Downplayed, as he isn't terrible with his camera. Ukyo simply takes some pictures of sceneries for reports in magazines[[spoiler:and some of the heroine, while they were dating]].
* CreepyShadowedUndereyes: His evil side sports these.
* CrypticallyUnhelpfulAnswer: Ukyo wants to help the heroine and keep her safe, but whenever he tries to warn her, his vague words are confusing and terrifying. Though he admits that his words are probably strange, but knows that he can't fully divulge information.
* CurtainsMatchTheWindows: Light-green hair and light-green eyes.
* DespairEventHorizon: [[spoiler:Having experienced the heroine's death or even his own for what could have been years has already pushed him past this.]]
* EarnYourHappyEnding: His Good Ending [[spoiler:has Neil leaving his body, and allowing Ukyo and the heroine to finally be together again]].
* EvilEyebrows: When his evil side is in charge.
* FlipPersonality: [[spoiler:Part of his switching personalities comes from slowly losing his sanity by continued failures of keeping the heroine safe or having to die, so she can continue to live and be happy with another man. Another part comes from being possessed by Lord Neil.]]
* GroundhogPeggySue: [[spoiler:Lord Neil forces Ukyo to have to go through timelines over and over, until Ukyo's wish his fulfilled. Only when it gets fully fulfilled will Neil regain his full powers.]]
* GuideDangIt: All routes involve even minor mistakes locking the player out from the Good Ending, but Ukyo's route turns this problem up to eleven. One small mistake, and the player may have locked themselves into getting nothing ''but'' Bad Endings!
* IWantMyBelovedToBeHappy: Every route except his own has him choose to step aside, so that the heroine can be happy with another man. [[spoiler:Meaning Ukyo has to die.]]
* ImportantHaircut: ''CROWD'' has him cut his hair [[spoiler:in the Wedding segment]].
* JekyllAndHyde: Ukyo acts sweet, but switches easily to being murderous and threatening. [[spoiler:Part of it is a side-effect of having gone through multiple timelines, and having seen the heroine die all the time, through his own actions or other means, or having to need to die himself. Ukyo himself loves the heroine, but his evil side wants to kill her.]]
* LongHairedPrettyBoy: His hair is the longest out of the romanceable options.
* LoveMartyr: [[spoiler:Gladly died, if it means that the heroine continues to survive in this timeline. Although his other personality admits that he's sick and tired of having to do this, and that's why he's trying to get the heroine killed.]]
* TheManyDeathsOfYou: Ukyo dies through some means in other routes near the end of August. Run over by a car, committing suicide by jumping off the roof of a building, and getting stabbed in a fight are some of them.
* NiceHat: Wears a black slide cap with a checkered pattern on its sides.
* NiceGuy: Ukyo is very sweet and kindhearted. The complete opposite of his evil side.
* RapunzelHair: His hair reaches down to his hips.
* SecretCharacter: Supposed to be one, as his route isn't unlocked until successfully completing the previous four routes, and Ukyo rarely gets featured in the first game's merchandising. Despite his route being the True Route.
* StarCrossedLovers: With the heroine. [[spoiler:One of them has to die by the end of August in any timeline, as they aren't supposed to exist together, after the heroine was fated to die from the injuries sustained in the university's fire.]] Their fate of this is averted in his Good Ending.
* WalkingSpoiler: Beyond being a secret character, Ukyo is also [[spoiler:one of the reasons why the heroine has amnesia]].
* YouAreWorthHell: [[spoiler:Ukyo willingly goes through multiple timelines to make sure the heroine survives, even if this means that he has to die in her stead or let her be happy with another man.]]
* [[YouGottaHaveBlueHair You Gotta Have Green Hair]]: He has light-green hair.

[[quoteright:250:http://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/orion_1.png]]

-> Voiced by Creator/HiromiIgarashi (Japanese) and Creator/ShannonEmerick (English)

Orion is a spirit from the dream world.\\
While out in the human world, he accidentally ended up merging with the heroine's soul and ended up pushing her memories out of her, resulting in her amnesia.

Orion can only be seen and heard by the heroine. As his merging with her made her lose her memories, he feels guilty over this and vows to help her regain them.
----
* AscendedExtra: ''LATER'' gave him his own route.
* AudienceSurrogate: Serves this role more than the heroine, as she rarely has any lines. Orion takes over things like explaining what is going on and commenting on events, as well as coming up with ideas.
* HornedHumanoid: Two black horns with two yellow rings at their base.
* MissionFromGod: [[spoiler:Turns out that his meeting and crashing into the heroine was not an accident. He was sent out to the human world to try and find his creator and leader of the spirits, Lord Nhil. Orion being pulled towards the heroine has to do with her being the source of the anomaly, and Nhil being close-by in the body of Ukyo.]]
* MysticalWhiteHair: Orion's hair is of such a light color that it looks white, serving to underline his being a spirit. The anime darkened his hair to being gray.
* NonHumanSidekick: No matter how human he might look, Orion is a spirit from the dream world.
* SpiritAdvisor: Can only be heard and seen by the heroine, and Orion often talks with her about ideas on what might help her trigger any memories.
* {{Synchronization}}: Due to having merged with the heroine's soul, Orion can tell her emotional and physical state, even getting tired when she does. However, Orion quickly points out that he can severe this 'link' for some time, so there is no embarrassment or awkwardness when things get romantic with one of the boyfriends.
* VoiceForTheVoiceless: In Clover World, Orion knows he can't talk to other humans, and requires the heroine's help to talk to Kent. He asks her to write down what he says, so that he, the heroine and Kent can have a three-way conversation about her lack of memories.

-> Voiced by Satomi Moriya (Japanese) and Allison Sumrall (English)

The heroine's best friend.\\
Sawa is a lively university student and studies at the same school as the heroine and Mine. Some routes have her work as a maid at the ''Meido to Shitsuji'' café.
----
* AmbiguouslyGay: The anime made her come across as this. Sawa visits the café in a timeline when she doesn't actually work there, just so she can flirt a little with the heroine, and looks a little betrayed to learn that the heroine likes Ikki. Sawa even has subtle moments where she seems to be trying to steer the heroine's interest away from him. She's also really happy about the high female-to-male ratio on one of the trips. Some viewers that never played the games thought she might have been a [[GayOption gay option]].
* BookDumb: Struggles with writing a report for university.
* CurtainsMatchTheWindows: She's a brunette with brown eyes.
* GenkiGirl: Generally very energetic and upbeat.
* HairDecorations: Wears two flower hairclips in a cross shape.
* TheKlutz: Tends to make mistakes in routes where she works at the café, and one of the transition screens shows her tripping while carrying a cup of tea.
* {{Meido}}: One of the other two female employees at the café and dressed as a maid for it.
* OOCIsSeriousBusiness: Sawa seems unusually serious and quiet before the heroine heads to bed in one of the routes. The heroine is confused about this, but thinks little of it. [[spoiler:Sawa had been asked by Shin to help in setting a little 'trap' for the person that had injured the heroine. And she was super focused on being ready.]]
* PassionateSportsGirl: She's a member in several sports clubs.
* TomboyAndGirlyGirl: Sawa is the tomboy to Mine's girly girl.
* TomboyishPonytail: Her messy ponytail adds to her tomboyish nature.

[[folder:Mine]]
[[quoteright:300:http://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/mine_in_anime.jpg]]

-> Voiced by Kana Akutsu (Japanese) and Molly Searcy (English)

Mine is a co-worker of the heroine's.\\
She works as a maid in the ''Meido to Shitsuji'' café, and is one of the members in Ikki's fanclub. Mine has a bubbly and happy personality, though she can act rather differently, depending on the route.
----
* CurtainsMatchTheWindows: Pink hair and pink eyes.
* HairDecorations: Wears a butterfly decoration in her bun.
* LikesOlderMen: Spade World has her and Sawa mention that the middle-aged owner of the lodge is very attractive. And Clover World has her have a crush on [[spoiler:the café manager, Waka]].
* LongHairIsFeminine: Out of the three female employees of the café, Mine is the most feminine.
* {{Meido}}: The third employee working and dressed as a maid in the café.
* RelationshipSabotage: Tries to pull this in Clover World a few times. [[spoiler:It doesn't work because Mine mistakenly believes that the heroine is dating ''the manager'' of the café, on whom Mine has a crush in the route. When the misunderstanding is cleared up, she feels pretty stupid for having done those things.]]
* RoseHairedSweetie: She's sweet and kindhearted in some routes. In other routes, she's more cold towards the heroine because she considers her a rival in love, but still has her well-being at heart.
* TomboyAndGirlyGirl: Mine is the girly girl to Sawa's tomboy.
* ValleyGirl: The English dub has her talk like this.
* WhatDoesSheSeeInHim: Played with, as Clover World has her ask the heroine why she likes her boyfriend so much. Mine points out that the guy's so difficult to understand because his communication is so weird, and his stoicness can be frustrating... but makes it sound positive. [[spoiler:Mine is actually talking about the manager and not about Kent, though the two have similar personalities in that route.]]
* [[YouGottaHaveBlueHair You Gotta Have Blue Hair]]: She has pale-pink hair.

[[folder:Waka]]
[[quoteright:300:http://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/angry_waka.jpg]]

-> Voiced by Hidenori Takahashi (Japanese) and Jay Hickman (English)

The manager of the ''Meido to Shitsuji'' café.
His personality is completely different for each route.
----
* AscendedExtra: ''LATER'' gave him his own route.
* TheCasanova: His personality in Heart World, being similar to Ikki in a more mature way. He also loves to give romantic advice, though it's unclear how appreciated it is.
* CurtainsMatchTheWindows: He's a brunet and has golden-brown eyes.
* HairTriggerTemper: His personality in Spade World, where he quickly loses his temper over employees making even the most minor of mistakes. Even threatening to fire someone.
* {{Megane}}: Next to Kent, the only bespectacled character. With [[StoicSpectacles differing]] [[ScaryShinyGlasses personalities]], too.
* TheQuietOne: His personality for Clover World, where Waka mostly communicates through looks and altering facial expressions. It's actually a talent of his employees in that route to read his expressions and knowing what he's 'saying'.
* ReasonableAuthorityFigure: His personality for Diamond World, with him caring for his employees' well-beings, and gladly giving the heroine time off because she's not feeling well. [[spoiler:Though this is a lie told by Touma, who has been keeping her at his house, before imprisoning her.]]
* {{Troll}}: His personality in Joker World, making up an elaborate sob-story about why he's subscribed to a magazine.

[[folder:Rika]]
[[quoteright:300:http://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/amnesia_rika_1024x570.png]]

-> Voiced by Yoshida Seiko (Japanese)

The leader of Ikki's fanclub.
Rika is a sarcastic and aristocratic woman, and her obsessive love for Ikki tends to put her at odds with the heroine. She's very loving towards Ikki, but also keeps a rein on the other fangirls, particularly the new members.
----
* AlphaBitch: Plays this role in most routes, where she's the woman in charge of Ikki's fanclub and believes this to make her better than the heroine. Spade World has Ikki's fanclub being an actual threat to the heroine because of her relationship with Ikki, making Rika the de-facto [[BigBad antagonist]] of that route.
* CurtainsMatchTheWindow: Blonde hair and golden eyes.
* HairDecorations: Can be difficult to see, but she wears a black hairband under her hat and a black ribbon, with its ends falling over her forehead.
* LovableAlphaBitch: She's one in Joker World and kinder towards the heroine because she's actually friends with her.
* MurderTheHypotenuse: Threatens this to the heroine in routes where she believes her to be stealing Ikki's attention away from Rika and his fanclub. Particularly in Spade World, where the fanclub becomes insanely jealous about her relationship with Ikki. [[spoiler:More than one Bad Ending has her and the fanclub succeed in getting the heroine out of the way, though none of them actually [[FateWorseThanDeath kill]] her.]]
* NiceHat: Wears a giant, elaborate flat hat with black-and-pink stripes except for a small crown near the center of the headgear. Next to the crown is a white fur-like pelt that falls over the rim.
* {{Ojou}}: Heavily implied to be one.
* SlasherSmile: Sports one when she's threatening the heroine with death.
* {{Yandere}}: Towards Ikki, along with the rest of his fanclub. Particularly in Spade World, Rika seems to hold a grudge against the heroine and reminds her to not consider Ikki to be really hers, and threatens to kill her.
