Main Characters
Masachika Kuze
- Voiced by: Kōhei Amasaki
- The Ace: Downplayed. While he’s normally a slacker, when something has to be done, he’ll make sure to get it done well. This trope is actually played straight, as it is revealed Masachika is naturally talented in pretty much everything, even more so than Yuki. He chooses to underachieve because he believes he isn’t deserving of his accomplishments because he didn’t work for them.
- The Social Expert: He's able to deescalate situations on the fly, as well as motivate people. It's the main reason that Alya respects him.
- Unaffected by Spice: Loves his spicy food.
Alisa "Alya" Mikhailovna Kujou
- Voiced by: Sumire Uesaka
- Bilingual Backfire: She has no idea that Masachika can understand everything she says, no matter which language she uses.
- Hiding Behind the Language Barrier: The title says it all here. Having said that, it doesn't work as well as she thinks.
- Sweet Tooth: Very much so. She's noted to prefer a soft drink considered too sweet for many.
Yuki Suoh
- Voiced by: Wakana Maruoka
- Annoying Younger Sibling: She does enjoy getting under Masachika's skin.
- Closet Geek: She's as big an otaku as her brother, if not more, but at school she plays the role of a prim and proper young lady.
- The Gadfly: She loves toying with Alya, especially by playing off as a romantic rival.
- Shared Family Quirks: An otaku with remarkable social skills, a love for spicy food, and knowledge of at least one other language. Is this describing Yuki, or her brother?
- Unknown Relative: Invoked. Since she and Kuze don't share a family name she likes to pretend she's his "childhood friend" rather than his little sister. She mainly does this because she gets a kick out of provoking Alya into thinking she's a romantic rival.
Student Council
Maria "Masha" Mikhailovna Kujou
- Voiced by: Yukiyo Fujii
- Cloudcuckoolander: Very much operates on her own wavelength.
Touya Kenzaki
- Voiced by: Kaito Ishikawa
- Formerly Fat: Has definitely gotten in shape since he first entered the school.
