Grand Duchy of Varden
One of the duchies that make up the Federation that borders the Belgarian Empire. General Weingartner
The Commander of Fort Volks, a 55-year-old war veteran who was overseeing Fort Volks for 12 years at the beginning of Volume 2.
- A Father to His Men: He truly cares about the men under his command, so much so that he surrendered to Regis and Altina for the sake of his troops at Fort Volks.
- Noble Demon: He may be an enemy soldier to the protagonists, but he's decent and honorable.
- Villain Respect: Although not villainous, he is an enemy officer. Still, he congratulates Regis's brilliant and unorthodox strategic thinking as well as Altina's strength and courage.
Zechmeister
A young, hotheaded commander under Weingartner. Leader of the Green Bronze Knights.
- Leeroy Jenkins: Runs out of Fort Volks and attacks Jerome head on with no plan, preparation or backup. Granted, this is after three days of continuous bombardment by cannon fire, day and night.
- Suicidal Overconfidence: Thought he could take out Jerome and the Black Knights easily. He was wrong.
