Founder of the [=AoA=] X-Men, Magneto's life was changed in a pivotal moment when his dear friend Xavier was murdered by an insane and incredibly powerful mutant . Swearing to uphold Xavier's dreams of human/mutant peace, Magneto finds himself the founder of the X-men and one of the few remaining in opposition to Apocalypse and his Horsemen.

For tropes, see ComicBook/Magneto.

A mutant with the power to absorb the memories and genetic abilities of anyone she touches, she accidentally absorbed too much power from a woman named Lorna, permanently acquiring her electromagnetic manipulating abilities -- in contrast to her mainstream counterpart, who acquired FlyingBrick status by absorbing the powers of ComicBook/MsMarvel.

* BadassInCharge: Rogue's second in command of the X-Men and kicks serious ass.
* BlessedWithSuck: Somewhat less so than her mainstream counterpart, because here she falls in love with a man who can shield himself with a forcefield and so he is capable of touching her. She's still unable to touch her son, though.
* CantHaveSexEver: Averted. Magneto's abilities allow him and Rogue to touch and they have a son together.
* Flight: Much like Magneto, Rogue is able to fly by riding the Earth's magnetic field.
* FlyingBrick: Rogue is still a flying brick in this continuity, though as a result of her absorbed magnetic abilities rather than Ms. Marvel's powers.
* FunetikAksent: Rogue's Southern accent is as prominent as ever in her speech bubbles.
* HappilyMarried: Rogue's relationship with Magneto was strained at times by both his cold demeanor and her attraction to Gambit. Still, their unwavering loyalty and love for one another makes her this.
* ImpaledWithExtremePrejudice: Rogue suffered this at the hands of Weapon X, who became the new Apocalypse, after she attempted to weaken him by draining his powers.
* LoveTriangle: Rogue's was originally in one with Magneto and Gambit. Magneto won out.
* MamaBear: Rogue reacts very violently to Holocaust threatening her son, Charles.
* MayDecemberRomance: Rogue is married to and has a child with the much older Magneto.
* MegaManning: As per her usual power set.
* SelectiveMagnetism: Like Magneto, because she stole the powers of Polaris in this continuity. However, the times that she actually used this ability for something other than making herself a flying brick could be counted on one hand.
* SkunkStripe: This version of Rogue also has her signature white streak in her hair.
* SuperStrength: By manipulating the magnetic fields of her body, Rogue is able to greatly increase her physical strength.
* SuperToughness: Another power acquired by manipulating magnetism, Rogue can take some serious hits, including physical blows and powerful energy blasts from Holocaust.

Magneto's son, driven to avenge his slain sister. Storm's lover in this continuity.

* BattleCouple: Him and Storm.
* HeroicSacrifice: Took a hit from Sauron meant for his father at the cost of his own life.
* KilledOffForReal: Not in the original story arc, but in a 2005 expansion he met his end battling Sauron.
* MyGreatestFailure: Is haunted by his failure to save his sister Wanda from her death.
* NotSoDifferent: Unlike other [=AoA=] characters he is not very different from the 616 Quicksilver, the main difference being that he is just slightly less of a JerkAss than the normal timeline's Pietro.
* SuperSpeed: He has the power to run at incredible speeds.
* SupportingLeader: He is the field leader of the X-Men, serving under his father Magneto.

Banshee was older than most members of the X-Men and had actually retired. However, Magneto later asked him to come out of retirement to fight against Apocalypse.

* MakeMeWannaShout: Just like his mainstream counterpart.
* Flight: Also like his mainstream counterpart, Banshee is able to fly by riding sound waves.
* RetiredBadass: Was this until he rejoined the X-Men at the behest of Magneto

A mysterious mutant prisoner of Apocalypse's Madri priests, Exodus was found and rescued by Magneto, becoming intensely devoted to him as a result. After being trained in the use of his powers, he joined Magneto's X-Men and quickly proved his worth as a teammate during the ensuing battles.

* AdaptationalHeroism: Unlike the 616 Exodus who is radicalized into extremism by Magneto, the mentorship of this world's Mags produces an Exodus who is an unequivocal hero.
* BattleCouple: Him and Dazzler.
* ComboPlatterPowers: Per Cypher's description of him: "Exodus is a telekinetic, Telepathy telepath, teleporter... I don't know what else."
* DoesThisRemindYouOfAnything: In The Salvation of Exodus, a panel that shows Exodus, as a captive of the Madri being saved by Magneto, he is notably drawn with a skeletal, emaciated appearance uncomfortably reminiscent of Holocaust victims. See for yourself.
* GodzillaThreshold: Circumstances force Magneto to reveal to Exodus his powers of teleportation.
* Irony: He is very respectful of Quicksilver and even refers to him as "sir". In the main timeline they are bitter enemies.
* PowerLimiter: Wears a pair of mechanical devices on his face that most likely serve as these.
* PutOnABus: In his last appearance Magneto sent him on a secret mission. He hasn't been seen since.
* SixthRanger: Mentioned at one point as being the team's newest member.
* SuperpowerLottery: Not quite as crazy powerful as his mainstream incarnation, but still probably the most powerful of the [=AoA=] X-Men.
* TookALevelInKindness: Not nearly as much of a KnightTemplar as his 616 incarnation.
* WithGreatPowerComesGreatInsanity: Inverted. Fearing that Exodus might become corrupted by the full scope of his powers, Magneto deliberately limited his knowledge of them.

Originally one of Apocalypse's lapdogs, Sabretooth found even he had his limits when a mission turned out to be far darker in nature than he had initially believed. Deemed unfit to survive by Apocalypse, Sabretooth was left behind after a battle with Magneto and his X-Men, and threw his loyalty in with them to survive.

* TheAtoner: Not at first, but eventually grew into one of these.
* BadassInDistress: At one point he his captured and beaten very nearly to death by Holocaust. Blink has to come save him.
* BigBrotherMentor: Becomes one to Blink.
* EvenEvilHasStandards: Sabertooth thought that Apocalypse just wanted to intimidate humanity by seizing Cape Citadel; he immediately protested that this wasn't what he signed on for when it was made clear that Apocalypse intended the missiles to be used.
* HealingFactor: Much like Weapon X and his mainstream counterpart, Sabretooth heals much more quickly and extensively than an ordinary person.
* HeelFaceTurn: Despite everything, he became a sincere believer in Magneto's creed and tried to atone for the evil he had committed.
* MoralityPet: Joining Magneto gets him started on the path to being a hero, but mentoring Blink gives him a reason to be one.
* NotInThisForYourRevolution: Initially, just wanted to survive and get revenge on Apocalypse after he defected.
* ThoseTwoGuys: Usually goes into battle with the feral Wild Child at his side.
* WolverinePublicity: One of the more popular [=AoA=] characters, so much so that he was brought back years later to be a main character in ComicBook/Exiles.

A young mutant teleporter and Sabretooth's loyal student.

* BadassInCharge: Blink started off as a just a general badass, having been trained by Sabretooth and all, but she later became this after being made leader of the Exiles.
* BreakoutCharacter: Easily one of, if not the, most popular character produced by the AOA timeline. Not only did she completely displace the obscure main universe Blink, she was also given a 4 issue solo series and made one of the six main characters of ComicBook/Exiles. She also made an appearance in Film/XMenDaysOfFuturePast.
* TeleFrag: Used to defeat Holocaust.
* TeleportersAndTransporters: Her mutant power.
* ThinkingUpPortals: Blink's main power is this.

!!Wild Child
A feral, nearly mindless mutant that sees Sabretooth as his master after being beaten by him in a dominance fight.

Iceman was one of the first X-Men in this continuity as well, though it seems that the crapsack world he lives in has made him master his powers much more quickly. He almost always appears in his ice form, but his personality seems to be largely the same as his mainstream counterpart's.

* AnIcePerson: Of course. Still, even this darker version of Bobby isn't cold or aloof. He still cracks jokes like his mainstream counterpart does.
* TheMentallyDisturbed: Notably more unstable that the regular timeline's Iceman, though not so unstable as to reach AxCrazy levels.

Morph is the wise-cracking jokester of the X-Men, who was formerly known as Changeling. He often gets on his teammate's nerves, particularly Sabretooth and Sunfire.

* VoluntaryShapeshifting: Morph's main power is this, to an incredible degree. He can disguise himself as people, animals, objects, etc.

!Generation Next

Brutal and merciless, Colossus is the reluctantly appointed teacher for Generation Next, but cares only for one person: his lover, Kitty Pryde, aka Shadowcat.

* SadistTeacher: Openly tried to get his students to kill each other during training to ensure that only the strongest ones would be left to fight, and regarded even them as expendable tools in his crusade against Apocalypse.

* DirtyHarriet: Went undercover as prostitute to get into the prison Illiana was kept in.
* MistreatmentInducedBetrayal: She didn't take being left for dead well.

!!Lila Cheney

!!Guido Carosella

* ParentalSubstitute: For Nate Grey.

!!Nate Grey
Genetic offspring of Scott Summers and Jean Grey created by Sinister. You can learn more about him here.

* TykeBomb: Was created with one purpose and one purpose only: to kill Apocalypse. He did his best to fulfill it too.

* AdaptationalVillainy: While the original Apocalypse has had rare moments of moral ambiguity this Apocalypse has all the depth and complexity of a cartoon villain.
* AdaptationalWimp: He talks a big game, but when push comes to shove this Apocalypse can't hold a candle to the real deal.
* AxCrazy: Cranks the original Apoc's Darwinian screed UpToEleven and completely discards any notion of morality or even logic to get there.
* BaldOfEvil: Like classic Apocalypse he's bald, and he's about as evil as it is possible to get.
* BigBad: What would you expect from the Apocalypse of his own titular Age?
* CartoonishSupervillainy: Imagine the most grimdark cartoon villain you can think of and you've basically got this guy. His whole story would be perfect Saturday morning cartoon filler if it weren't for the brutal, horrific and very real consequences of his rule.
* DystopiaJustifiesTheMeans: Unlike the regular Apocalypse there is no upside to his goals at all and the world he creates is nothing more than a horrific, dystopic wasteland.
* EvilOverlord: Courtesy of a TimeyWimeyBall.
* EvilutionaryBiologist: 99% Evilutionary and 1% Biologist, if even that.
* TheEmperor: Rules over what is left of North America with an iron fist.
* ForWantOfANail: Supposedly the only reason this Apocalypse ended up so different from his normal incarnation is because Charles Xavier was never born. This doesn't exactly hold up to what we are shown, but it is treated as a basic tenet just the same.
* GodEmperor: All set up to be one, but in the end his powers prove to be no match for Magneto's.
* HalfTheManHeUsedToBe: Magneto tears him in half to provide his first death...
* KilledOffForReal: ...and even when he tries reviving as a kid, Weapon X kills that.
* NukeEm: Kicks off his reign by reducing America to a bombed out wasteland.
* OrcusOnHisThrone: Part of the reason why he's such a wimp compared to the normal Apocalypse. He doesn't get off his butt until the very end, to beat on a Magneto that's already been beaten half to death. And he still loses.
* TheSocialDarwinist: As per regular Apocalypse, though this incarnation cares nothing for the science or logic, only for the end result. Thanks to nuclear strikes and an evil army, he achieves his aim of a world where only the strongest have survived.

!!Holocaust (Nemesis)

* OmnicidalManiac: While Apocalypse wants a world where only the strongest survive, Holocaust wants a world where noone is strong enough to survive.
%%* SmugSnake
%%* TheSociopath
* VampiricDraining: One of his armor's abilities is to drain the lifeforce of other beings to feed its phasing and shapeshifting powers.

* WouldHurtAChild: Sucked a human boy into himself and happily fed off his terror.

%%* CoDragons
* BlankSlate: According to his bio in Battle of the Atom he was this before Apocalypse found and reprogrammed him.
* CanonForeigner: Speculated for years as being a different character than 616 Bastion, it was ultimately revealed that they are in fact the same character by (of all things) the mobile game X-Men: Battle of the Atom.
* EarlyInstallmentWeirdness: He was actually mentioned a solid year before the main timeline's Bastion was introduced, leading to years of speculation that the [=AoA=] Bastion was a different character.
* TheGhost: He never actually appears, having been destroyed years earlier in the backstory, and until the above reveal the only information we had about him was that Abyss had defeated him.
* KilledOffForReal: By Abyss, earning the latter a KlingonPromotion.

Interestingly, a version of Selene from the Age of Apocalypse appears in the mobile game X-Men: Battle of the Atom with a different appearance from this character. While not proof, this is a strong indicator that this character is in fact Autumn Rolfson.
