Can't Live Without You in Fan Works.

Crossovers
  • For a Diamond Is a Marveled Thing: Steven has the ability to unfuse into his human and gem halves, named Sten and Vendan; however, doing so has life-threatening consequences.
    • In Tax Benefits, Sten notes that he may one day be able to survive physically without Vendan, though how well either would fare otherwise remains questionable.
  • Cursed Blood: Tae, Lily and Saki need to have Izuku's blood on a regular basis to remain "alive", as the microorganisms in his blood created by his Quirk are the only thing keeping them in that status.

Dragon Ball

Disney Animated Canon

  • Only Exception: Anna declares this when Elsa is about to leave so that Anna won't be disowned by her father.

Harry Potter

  • Dangerverse: Remus and Danger Lupin are linked together by the Horcrux Vivens bond, and both are dependent on that bond to mitigate the effects of lycanthropy. If they go more than about 24 hours without skin-to-skin contact they start to sicken, and 72 hours without contact would be lethal. However, as long as the bond remains intact each also acts as a Soul Jar to the other, allowing one of them to pull the other back from death.

Kingdom Hearts

  • Remember the Tides: Since Xion didn't return to Sora, the two share the same life energy. If they fight while separated, both get exhausted very quickly.

The Legend of Zelda

  • In Living With Myself, Link and Dark Link are bonded in this fashion. In addition, if the two of them are too far away from each other, neither of them is able to die.

My Hero Academia

  • In When Reason Fails, Stalkers are a variation of a Revenant Zombie who are revived because of their intense love for a certain person, and "feed" on that person's love and affectionate gestures for them. If they can't be close, they eventually go berserk from starvation, and if the person dies or genuinely rejects them, they will die. Ochako is one, with Izuku as her loved one.

Naruto

Puella Magi Madoka Magica

  • In The Soulmate Timeline, one major downside of the very different timeline Homura has ended up in is that her life is linked to that of her Soulmates. If one of them dies, they all die. This is a condition Homura is very wary of. It also has essentially made this the last chance as Homura won't be able to leave the timeline without killing herself.

RWBY

  • Arc Royale: Each of the alternate Jaunes is tied to an Anchor, somebody who was significant to them in their original universes. These bonds can range from emotional connections to circumstantial ones. If their Anchor dies, the Jaune gets eliminated from the game.
  • Relic Of The Future: Jaune himself turns out to be a magical construct tied to Salem, meaning that if she is killed, they will fade away without anything to sustain them.

Super Mario Bros.

  • In Mario's Execution, after Miyamoto knocks out Mario, Wario suddenly rises up to hold him at gunpoint and stop him from killing Mario. When Miyamoto questions him, Wario explains that he, Luigi and his Good Friend WaMario die as well if Mario kicks it, thanks to all being based on Mario himself. "There can be no reflection if the mirror has a shadow cast upon it."

Yu-Gi-Oh!

  • In Being Dead Ain't Easy, Yami Bakura reveals that since Kaiba bonded Joey's soul to his own, Joey has been slowly killing Kaiba as his own condition worsens.
