A Video Game / Anime about {{Idol Singer}}s would quite obviously provide plenty of examples of awesome music, but a few of them deserve special mention for their added effect during the scene/event they played out.

* Chihaya's original song from the first game, [[http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lXq_18N3K2Q Aoi Tori]]. It is a beautifully melancholic piece that practically defines Chihaya's feelings. It [[http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h60kqtbbM6Q returns as an arrange for Episode 4's ending]], complete with a new recording and a beautiful ''a cappella'' performance in the episode itself. The [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DUydeiXhgOQ piano version]] as arranged by Duke of Pianeet is doubly awesome, not just because of how well it captures the feel of the original song, but because of how tremendously intricate it is, and the sheer skill needed to play it at that level.
* Chihaya's [[http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-EjE6U5LeTg Me ga Au Toki]] manages to be fast paced and emotional at the same time.
* [[http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IIDkEad-V8c arcadia]]. It just radiates awesome. Also was used as a theme song for the trailer of [[http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gF0DON1ExJI Mujin Gattai Kisaragi]] and starts playing when Haruka reveals herself as the BigBad.
* [[http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LFjvmiZ84M4 Nemuri Hime]] - Sung by Chihaya ''a cappella'' at first, making the entrance of the orchestra all the more powerful in Ep 21. Another AwesomeMoment because her passion for singing saves the day despite Kuroi's rigging of the background music, and it lets Jupiter realize what he's doing and leave for good.
* [[http://www.nicovideo.jp/watch/sm25649026 Yakusoku]] - Sung by 765PRO ALLSTARS - Ep 20 of the anime. It's also a SugarWiki/MomentOfAwesome, SugarWiki/{{Heartwarming Moment|s}}, and a TearJerker (particularly in live performances).
* [[http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k-d4tJqE-t8 Saihyou]] - her Ex Episode song from ''One For All''. It really lets her show the range and work of her voice. Extra awesome, because the full version includes part of "Aoi Tori" after the first section.

* [[http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cvId5JelbOw relations]] is one of the series' earliest rock-type songs.
* [[http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=14U2Yho1EtQ Marionette no Kokoro]] - Sung by Miki in Episode 13. Doubles as a {{Determinator}} moment for her, since she was already tired from singing/dancing her previous song.

* [[http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FuVX95dqtyY ALRIGHT*]] - which Yukiho sings in episode 3 of the anime as a way of overcoming her own [[DoesNotLikeMen weakness.]] In performances with a live band, Azumin is joined by the guitarists during the bridge.
* [[http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UFMYHVPaDFo Little Match Girl]] - Shows how Yukiho has become confident in herself, enough to take the lead in the center of the stage with no problems. The [[http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yK0L0tjAE4E M@STER version]] is even more glorious.
* [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ILlpGy4GHvw First Step]] is this and a huge heartwarming song coming straight from Azumin's heart to Yukiho's character.
* [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R4GXnva_5gc Impervious Resolution]], one of her Million Live songs.

* [[http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cVkNwsYMUzU Agent Yoru o Yuku]] has always been one of the most well-known songs in the series. However, the song really brings out the awesome in Episode 8, [[http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vzBAo72t938 where it plays in the background while Makoto has an epic kung-fu fight with a grunt on top of a ladder bridge.]]
* [[http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZR5zTPolS_w Meisou Mind]] is incredibly cool.

* [[http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1N3VkLo2Rz8 Tonari ni...]] is incredibly emotional, and the heartbreaking lyrics strongly imply that the singer is left behind by a person who passed away. The [[http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eSoaMp2iN9U "movie"]] in the anime shows it as such, with Azusa whispering "I've decided to marry." at the hill mentioned in the song as she decides to move on. It's something you normally wouldn't expect from an idol series.
* "Mythmaker" has a very cool melody and Azusa using a deeper (and more seductive) singing voice than usual.
* [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G4b0D9_Cynw Nageki no FRACTION]], particularly in the [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EWrIiwYqfK8 10th anniversary concert.]]

[[folder:765 Pro]]
* [[http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r5O0b02uEmE L.O.B.M]] - Sung by 765PRO ALLSTARS - Ep 10. A ThemeMusicPowerUp.
* [[http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_kW-hIaOWBc Watashitachi wa Zutto]] [[http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dGH58mKuhgA ...deshou?]] (previously known as Itsumademo Dokomademo) - Sung by 765PRO ALLSTARS - Ep 25. The HardWorkMontage just added the effect.
* [[http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xJl2aNfD2tw Jibun Rest@rt]] - Sung by 765PRO ALLSTARS (without Iori, Ami and Asuza). It's a defining moment in the series, where the idols that aren't Ryuuguu Komachi step up and prove to the world that they're just as talented and that they can stand on their own.
* The last episode's performance of a mashup of the two openings, [[http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yk-AfQqB9gw READY!!&CHANGE!!!!]], in its fully animated glory. All the girls manage to hold this concert together even with their incredibly busy schedules.
* [[http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DlPve1EHxIg Overmaster]] is Project Fairy's badass rock ImageSong (but strongly associated with Hibiki), which exemplifies the idea that AllGirlsWantBadBoys. Made even better when [[BewareTheNiceONes sweet and shy Yukiho]] [[http://youtu.be/pKAGkC2gwMk covers it]] (which is given a nod in the 10th anniversary/Masters of Idol World 2015 when Azumin joins Nu and Harami).
* [[TitleDrop THE iDOLM@STER]] is a catchy and inspiring song that pretty much represents what iM@S stands for. Its incarnation in the [[{{VideoGame/TheIdolmaster2}} second game]] is [[http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8I58aC1RGCs THE iDOLM@STER 2nd-mix]], a techno remix which somehow makes it even better.
* Shiny Festa gives us [[http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lzrIp3vtzfg edeN]], quite possibly one of the most awesome rock songs in the series.
* [[http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=czXTa1vu48k DREAM]] is an incredibly cool song, enough that it got its [[http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yKrCAdcLKHc own dance]] in One For All.
* It's time to party with [[http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8hMAh0c50Gg Machiuke Prince]]!
* While all of the chapters tell one big love story, "Hatsukoi ~Issho Kataomoi no Sakura~" is a beautifully orchestrated start about the apparent unrequited love.
* "Fate of the World", the rocking song accompanying the Sleeping Be@uty trailer of the movie sung by 765's leader idols.
* [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WcrG-67OE-Y Rebellion]] is quickly becoming Hibiki's most known song.
* Ryuuguu Komachi's signature song "Smoky Thrill". With a performance like the one in episode 6, no wonder Miki wanted to join!
* The movie's finale performance "M@STERPIECE" was deliberately written with the franchise's history in mind.

[[folder:Cinderella Girls]]
* Kaede's image song, "Koi Kaze". Creator/SaoriHayami's singing voice is considered to be the best of the Cinderella Girls for good reason, and it's performed in episode 15 of the anime as she explains her reasons for refusing Mishiro's offer.
* Among group songs, "Absolute [=NIne=]" is a powerful yet still catchy song sung by Syuko, Kaede, Rin, Miku, Shiki, Uzuki, Yumi, Mika, and Takumi.
* Among the ''jewelries!'' series of albums, "Nation Blue" (sung by Rin, Kaede, Ranko, Minami, and Riina) stands out amongst the rest of the Cool jewelries! selection and to lesser extent, the JEWELRIES! selection. It's not including the fact that this song is basically the theme song of the Cool types of the original mobile game.
* Natsuki's image song "Rockin' Emotion" is definitely a song Riina can aspire to.
* "Trancing Pulse", sung by Triad Primus in the Cinderella Girls anime in episode 22, is universally considered to be one of the most OP songs in the ''entire franchise'' for its [[EarWorm catchy tune and lyrics]], and the awesome harmony between Rin, Nao, and Karen's cool voices.
* "GOIN'!!!" is Cinderella Project's equivalent of Jibun Restart, performed in CG ep 13.
* Asterisk's main song "ØωØver!!" was so good it upped the awesomeness with its Heart Beat rock remix in episode 19. Similar to "First Step", Riina and Miku's seiyuu also wrote the lyrics (making it a team effort in real life as well as in the show).
* Kanade's image song "Hotel Moonside", performed in CG episode 22, is an epic hard electro EDM club banger with a "one, two, kiss, kiss" hook that won't leave your head anytime soon.

[[folder:Million Live]]
* "Blue Symphony", Chihaya's Million Live group song with Shiho, Megumi, and Kotoha.
* Julia's image songs [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8_hKXuzqaZM Ryuuseigun]] and [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dLO1C3oljq8 Praline]] are the definition of rock, and Aimi Terakawa even plays lead guitar in live performances!

* [[http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QUExDidUick ALIVE]], the personal song of Dearly Stars idol Ai Hidaka, a massive {{genki girl}} trying to make it as an idol by her own merits, instead of just riding the coattails of her famous mother (as many producers have advised). Ai auditions and always gives her all, but gets rejected and fails more often than not; keeping up the cheerful persona to others, but secretly crying about it alone at a park at night. Knowing this, the song becomes that much more of a TearJerker and serves as an inspiring theme for perseverance in general.
* 961 Jupiter's [[http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7_3SzYyC0tM Alice or Guilty]] is fairly awesome in itself, rivalling 961 Project Fairy's Overmaster in coolness. The 2014 Masters of Idol World medley has this song covered quite well by the seiyuu of Azusa, Hibiki, Rin, and (depending on the day) Julia or Nana..
* "Acceleration", Leon's main image song. What else would you expect from Creator/MinoriChihara?
* [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BIK-6sg-MvI Ai MUST GO]], the theme of the second Masters of Idol World concert.
