Even Marvel Television's TV shows before the Disney+ centered Phase 4 have good score/soundtracks. Especially the Netflix-MCU series, which capture the Darker and Edgier side of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
ABC Series
- Agent Carter:
- Caro Emerald's That Man, a Post Modern Jukebox-esque swing song, plays in the trailers and the opening moments of the pilot.
- The show's (and one-shot's) credit suite wouldn't sound out of place in a James Bond film.
- Peggy Lee's "It's a Good Day", played during Peggy's fight against SSR agents at the automat.**
- Inhumans: Valerie Broussard's cover of Paint it Black is more haunting than the original. Too bad it was used on a short fight scene.
- Cloak & Dagger (2018):
- The first episode uses "Quiet" by MILCK as Tandy's theme, which perfectly encapsulates how lonely she is.
- The season finale makes fantastic use of various arrangements of Styx's "Come Sail Away", finishing off with a full cover by Olivia Holt.
Hulu Series
- Runaways (2017):
- The theme song is a chilly synth ambient tune.
- "Gert's Lullaby", in both sung and instrumental versions, is a lovely and delicate piece that accompanies one of the shows first Heartwarming Moments.
- Helstrom:
- "My Body is a Cage", an Arcade Fire song covered by Peter Gabriel, is a symphonic rock track that sets the mood and accompanies the dark, haunting trailer.
- The theme song, "The Devil's Doo Wop", is a haunting, dark tune with vocals that accompanies the eerie Nightmare Fuel Coloring Book titles.
Netflix Series
- The main theme of Daredevil (2015) is a haunting melody that fits the first Netflix-MCU series' darker tone.
- Jessica Jones (2015):
- The title theme manages to seamlessly transition from a typical Film Noir tune to an epic rocking beat.
- Joan Jett's Bad Reputation in the third teaser is a exciting punk song, played over the aftermath of Jessica wiping out a bunch of guys in a bar.
- Iron Fist (2017): The theme song has a tense kung-fu vibe.
- The Defenders (2017):
- Nirvana's "Come as You Are" (also used in Captain Marvel) is used again for the full trailer and it fits the theme of the heroes having to come together but not wanting to quite nicely.
- The actual main theme sounds similar to the Daredevil theme note but with an Avengers-esque flair to it.
