Fight it or rock with it... my music conquers all!

miHoYo has proven themselves capable of delivering when it comes to music quality, and Honkai: Star Rail, like its two sister games, Honkai Impact 3rd and Genshin Impact, is no exception.

  • "Interstellar Journey," played during the official release trailer, is an epic pop theme about the Trailblazer and their allies embarking on their journey across the galaxy and facing whatever comes their way. The cover performed by the English voice cast (which even extends the original song) is also a pure joyride, with the voice actors taking turns singing in harmony.
  • "Wildfire", the theme when fighting against Cocolia, Mother of Deception, is a hard rock Dare to Be Badass song to keep fighting against all odds. It starts out as an instrumental, but when the boss drops a meteor on you, the song shouts the following lyric to rally your spirits, making it very clear that this isn't the boss's theme, it's yours. The cover by the voice actors of the Landau siblings give it a bit of extra meaning.
We made a choice, go fight against your fate!
  • "Samudrartha" is a soaring and operatic theme that plays as Dan Heng calls upon his High Elder powers to part the sea at Scalegorge Waterscape to reveal the path to the Ambrosial Arbor.
  • "Pedujara", the boss theme for Phantylia the Undying, an epic three-part suite that goes from menacing ("Ephemeral Cycle") to driven ("Even Immortality Ends") to triumphant ("Demiseless Existence"), all the while mixing up traditional Chinese music and Kam choir with electronic flair.
  • "Aberrant Receptacle", the Starcrusher Swarm King's boss theme, a short but sweet funky piece of music that will pump you up as you go against a giant blue bug.
  • "Gleaming Clash", Yanqing's boss theme, sounds like it came straight out of a martial arts movie, befitting the overconfident-yet-capable Child Prodigy.
  • "White Night", the music video for Version 2.0, quickly won the hearts of fans due to the extremely catchy lyrics, energetic tunes, and stunning visuals. The Chinese version of the song is just as good.
  • "If I Can Stop One Heart from Breaking" is an in-universe solemn piano piece backed by the singer, Robin, that perfectly sets the mood for Firefly opening up to the Trailblazer about her past and serves as something of a Establishing Character Music for her. Another version of the song plays after Firefly's supposed death which comes across as a complete Irony since that moment breaks the hearts of many. The English voice actors of Robin, Firefly, and the Trailblazers followed up with a moving cover of the song.
  • The bandleader of the self-playing band in Aideen Park usually plays the catchy jazz tune "Hi Dolly!" But if you set his mood to Happy using Clockwork, the band will play "The Midnight Special"—an awesome disco-themed remix of "This Side of Paradise," Penacony's main theme.
  • The boss themes of Penacony have been consistently beloved by the fanbase, while all having very distinct styles:
    • "Return of None", the theme of Something Unto Death, mixes up big band music with extensive electronic distortion, which makes it sound like a corrupted version of Penacony's musical themes, and fast-paced, anxiety-inducing "Psycho" Strings.
    • "Nevermore", Sam's boss theme, takes a very different tone, with a heavy, rhythmic industrial banger that really sells Sam as a menacing One-Man Army.
    • "Aventurine of Stratagems" goes all in with electronic jazz, an incredible saxophone throughline, and exciting pace that makes it sound like a theme to the world's greatest game show. The in-game version is further augmented by the variation that plays during the gambling phase, adding the sounds of crowds cheering you on in the background.
  • "Star Rail Live" is a stunning two-hour performance of all the main songs in the game's story, even opening with Kafka performing her theme song.
    • One of the most impressive performances is the combination of Serval's theme and 88 Degrees Bedrock's rap.
    • The performance of "Interstellar Journey" seamlessly combines both the Chinese and English lyrics.
    • "FUNNY BONE" and "To: A Faint Star" are actually fan-created songs that were featured in HoYoFair and got enough positive attention that they became official performances.
