Awesome Music / A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving

Go To

  • Vince Guaraldi once again provides a memorably catchy jazz score, including the vocal number "Little Birdie" (sung by Guaraldi himself).
  • The main Thanksgiving theme itself is a mild departure from Guaraldi's usual style, incorporating electric piano and a warm horn section.
  • The big-band remix of "Linus and Lucy" used for this special, "Linus and Lucy with the Band", works wonderfully for the montage of Charlie Brown, Linus, and Snoopy preparing their impromptu dinner.
  • "Fife & Drums Theme", which accompanies Snoopy and Woodstock putting on their Pilgrim outfits, is a fascinating little piece that counts for Creator's Oddball in Guaraldi's Peanuts work, being a vaguely Colonial-sounding march focused on trumpeter Tom Harrell and drummer Mike Clark. But Guaraldi is still there, doing some Baroque-style background coloring on his Clavinet, which on one hand sounds vaguely like a harpsichord, but on the other hand has a chirping electronic quality that makes the whole piece sound a bit like the early Moog synthesizer work of Wendy Carlos and Jean-Jacques Perrey.
