Awesome / Yu-Gi-Oh!: Bonds Beyond Time

Go To

  • Jaden's athletic prowess is certainly incredible, where he runs from rooftop-to-rooftop to avoid being hit by Paradox's monsters.
  • The gang's Pre Ass Kicking Oneliner in the English dub.
Jaden: (eyes glowing) Paradox, get ready to get your game on!
Yusei: (Signer Mark glowing) Your twisted time crusade stops here. Let's rev it up!
Yami: I have just one thing to say to you, Paradox. It's time to duel!
    • The music during this segment uses parts of their respective Leitmotifs was a pretty cool touch in the dub too. The original Japanese instead plays Passionate Duelist when the three start the duel.
  • Speaking of leitmotifs, each hero's turn is accompanied by the ones from their respective series in both the original Japanese and dub.
    • Yusei kicks off the hero's side with his self-titled battle theme, introducing him and Synchro Summoning to the older legacy protagonists, along with summoning Junk Gardna, who is instrumental in negating some of Paradox's offense.
    • Jaden's turn then comes around, right after both Malefic Cyber End Dragon and Malefic Rainbow Dragon managed to damage them. It starts with him using Polymerization to fuse his Elemental HERO Neos with Yusei's Junk Gardna to form Neos Knight. He proceeds to destroy both Malefic Cyber End and Malefic Rainbow Dragon in one turn, with Yubel even complimenting him on his excellent play. The Japanese version has this turn accompanied by his original heroic theme from his own series, used to highlight how Jaden's optimism returned after the events of the fourth season of GX.
    • When Yami Yugi's turn comes around in the Japanese version, just to really highlight how awesome he is, the iconic Passionate Duelist fires up again (to tie the crossover element together, it's the GX version of the song). From there, Yugi summons both Dark Magician and Dark Magician Girl in quick succession, gets Stardust Dragon back for Yusei, and then takes down Paradox's Malefic Paradox Dragon with a Combination Attack from his two most iconic monsters.
    • Also in the Japanese version, the last turn of the duel ends with Yusei, along with his triumphant and hope-filled theme from 5Ds, highlighting how he and the other two protagonists are going to make the winning play.
  • The viewer probably assumes Paradox is screwed after losing his dragon, until they notice that Paradox still has a face-down card. Said face-down is Malefic Paradigm Shift, which allows Paradox to bring forth his ace monster, Malefic Truth Dragon. Cue immediate Oh, Crap! as the Transformation Sequence begins and Paradox goes One-Winged Angel a la Yami Marik.
  • Yugi and Jaden working together to stop Paradox from winning; where Jaden activates The Flute of Summoning Kuriboh, letting Yugi add Kuriboh to his hand, where Yugi then discards it to save the rest of their life points from Malefic Stardust Dragon's attack. The way Kuriboh stops the attack stands as one of the best moments in the whole movie, as Kuriboh takes one for the team. The Japanese version has this saving move accompanied by the appropriately titled Bonds of the Three track from 5Ds' soundtrack as well.
  • The three main protagonists and their iconic monsters combining their powers together to defeat Paradox and Malefic Truth Dragon.
    • And while the Japanese name of the attack, "Shooting Spiral Sonic" is a decent name for their Combination Attack, the dub's name of "Dark Cosmic Wave" was just an overall better name.
