    Main Story

Chapter 1

  • Everything about the fight with Moebius Q and R.
    • They're scared of Matthew and A, calling them "Moebius Hunters". Matthew just shrugs, saying he was just wandering around, and A was just cleaning up his messes.
    • A short-circuits Q's manipulations by stabbing her in the back through the core, killing her in one hit. Then when R tries to attack, he gets his core cut in half from the front. All while A's sword displays the Monado's signature character on the guard.
A: I don't normally stoop to this. Such duplicity is beneath me.
R: S-stabbed in the back...? What a...dirty ruse...
Q: (tries to attack A, but A swiflty cuts his Moebius core) No... That sword...!
    • When it looks like Glimmer and Nikol are going to start fighting again, Matthew orders A to "do the thing." A runs over and with some superhuman leaps cuts through one Flame Clock and then the other, easily, displaying that Lucky Seven was not the only impossible weapon in the world. Glimmer and Nikol are both stunned and collapse.

Chapter 2

  • W Interlinks two entire Ferronises together to finish the party off, and decides to start by firing a full laser barrage at Glimmer. Nikol jumps in front of her... but he isn't hit. Because Rex appears out of nowhere instead and blocks the blast.
Rex: I like your attitude, kiddo. Leave it to Uncle Rex. [brandishes the Pneuma sword] I'll show 'em a thing or three.
    • Having figured out how his powers work, the climax of the fight has Shulk and Rex destroy the Ferronis Flame Clocks with their Blades, assisted by Panacea and Linka respectively, in order to make W vulnerable to attack, thus enabling Matthew to finish W off by punching his Core. In a homage to Noah and Mio destroying Colony 4's Flame Clock in the main game, The Weight of Life is playing the whole time. That Shulk, Rex, and their respective proteges sync up their attacks perfectly for this maneuver is impressive enough, but Matthew manages to do so as well, following their lead and hardly missing a beat despite having never fought beside them before.

Chapter 3

  • While the journey to Colony 9 is somber from a narrative perspective on account of Matthew recalling the loss faced by Na'el prior to the City's destruction, gameplay-wise it offers a big awesome moment whenever a battle is initiated in the Yesterdale area - rather than playing the standard battle theme for Future Redeemed, the game instead plays "Time to Fight!" from the first game to make the return to Colony 9.

Chapter 5

  • In order to defeat Alpha's final form, N empowers Matthew's Ouroboros Knuckles into the "Fists of the End" (revealing that they have Pneuma's Core Crystal underneath), which finally allows Matthew to Interlink. But he doesn't just Interlink with one partner, but the whole main party (minus A, but plus Na'el), to make an Ouroboros form far stronger than anything we've seen, powerful enough to wipe Alpha out in a single punch.
N: Drive it in! RELEASE THE POWER OF OUROBOROS!
  • Getting to fight Alpha alongside N, who has come to the realization that he does need the party's help in order to finish him off. But beyond that, the fact that he, of all characters, ends up having a Big Damn Heroes moment when he prevents Alpha from taking Matthew and Na'el to a different world, arriving just in the nick of time to prevent the worst from happening.
  • Shulk and Rex joining A as the new "cores" of the Trinity Processor within Origin. While it can be emotional to see them part ways with their respective children and to see their own stories come to a close, their confidence in future generations to defeat Z and Moebius and set the world right will pay off come Xenoblade Chronicles 3, and it's otherwise a fantastic sendoff for two of the most enduring protagonists from the franchise to see them accepting their new role without hesitation or regret while passing on their goals to the younger generations.
