Man, these two were quite talented for their time.
  • People may not be aware of this, but back in the 30s, various dancers had to shoot various frames or stop to breathe. But Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers defined what most people did at the time and did some dance numbers in a single take seemingly flawlessly, without stopping to breathe once. That takes serious talent. So seeing them dancing together in both "Isn't This a Lovely Day?" and "Cheek to Cheek" is absolutely glorious!
  • Fred's "Top Hat, White Tie and Tails" stage number. Whether surrounded by an army of supporting dancers, or alone, Fred Astaire is magnificent dancing with a charismatic verve only he could have.
  • Astaire and Rogers doing a supported backhand during the climax of "Cheek to Cheek", as shown in the page image. Not just anyone has a back that's so flexible, they could do stunts like that. Things like these are what put this duo above various others.
