Awesome / Thomas and the Magic Railroad

Go To

  • Lady being steamed up for the first time in decades, and puffing away down the titular Magic Railroad, with her triumphantly transforming into a Steam Engine like Thomas and his friends. It mingles with Heartwarming Moments.
    • The chase scene with Diesel 10, especially the climax when the viaduct collapses in front of Thomas, and he doesn't even slow down. He just goes for it.
      • Even more impressive in the '99 script, where Lady is actually turned off onto a siding right before the bridge, and Thomas, aware that it's collapsing, deliberately lures Diesel 10 and Boomer onto it, declaring, "I'm not afraid! I'm not afraid!"
  • A minor one: Thomas telling the snooty and selfish Gordon what we all were thinking when he makes some haughty remark about who should have collected Mr. Conductor... "All that steam has gone to your funnel!". Unfortunately, Gordon leaves, apparently having not heard Thomas' remark entirely.
  • Toby delaying Diesel 10's plot by ringing his bell and causing Pinchy to knock over a shed in the confusion, trapping the diesels.
  • Burnett Stone blowing off Diesel 10's threat that he'll get him and Lady. Admittedly, the actual line is pretty stilted, but it still takes a lot of guts to tell off a killer diesel armed with a giant hydraulic claw, right to his face as he's chasing you!
Diesel 10: Now I'll get you, Burnett Stone!
Burnett Stone: No you won't, because the magic you refuse to believe in will get the better of you!
    • This quote is even better in the original cut than this confusing line, as in the script Burnett was actually aiming the line at P.T. Boomer, who's much more malevolent than Diesel 10. (See the trivia page for more information on P.T. Boomer.)
  • Mr. Conductor forcing Diesel 10 to back off by threatening to put sugar into his works.
    • And later, when the diesel is interrogating him on the location of the buffers, Mr. C pulls out a pair of scissors and uses it to cut one of Pinchy's hydraulic hoses. The Diesel's outraged look when Mr. C is sent flying really sells it.
  • Percy spying on Splatter and Dodge in the middle of the night by himself. Similarly, his Cowardly Lion status being confirmed by that whole scene as he huffs and puffs through the night, telling himself that he can be brave, because Thomas has faith in him. As it turns out, Thomas was absolutely right.
