- The Grinch's Christmas-stealing montage is absolutely stunning. Like in the Ron Howard version, the Grinch uses myriad gadgets in order to get the job done in one night. Unlike the Ron Howard version, however, it's not a mess of steampunk practicality, but a montage of Visual Effects of Awesome.
- An auto-extending/collapsing ladder to get atop the first house, and long-string footwear to get between houses is the least of his gadgets. He also carries a candy cane-shaped gizmo that serves as a magnet to seize anything metallic, a net-shooter to bundle up presents, and a Batman-style grappling hook to ascend and descend down chimneys at high speed. Then he shows off specialized spinning bolas that tie up entire Christmas trees so tightly, he can just toss them straight up through the chimney. All of this together allows him to clean out an entire house in under a minute. And when he goes outside, his sleigh comes equipped with rollers to strip lights off of houses, and claws to snatch laurel wreathes off lamp-posts and doors.
- Before the theft montage begins, Max has to visibly try his very best to pull an empty sleigh with just the Grinch in it. By the time they get to the last house, the stack of presents is as tall as the place they're attempting to rob, and Max is dragging the entire thing as if it's not even there.
Grinch: Today we will do mean things, and we will do them in style! - Cindy-Lou Who's trap for Santa is basically a Batman Gambit that would make Batman proud. The Grinch grabs the cookie, and it sets off the trap - and drags a noise-maker to tell Cindy-Lou it's gone off. He stumbles back in surprise... right into the ring of rope, just in time for the weight to drop and tighten it, dragging him up to the ceiling fan. He's struggling with it when Cindy-Lou gets to the living room and getting nowhere.
- Fred’s Big Damn Heroes moment near the end. The Grinch is about to fall off the cliff due to the weight of his sled being too heavy for the edge to support. Just as he’s about to plummet to his death, Fred and his family appear just in time to catch his grappling hook. Then Max gets behind Fred’s calf and starts pulling.
