- Burt Lancaster and Nick Cravat both started out as acrobats, so they do all the stunts their characters do in the movie. Not only that, but most of them are done in long shots and long takes, which aren't easy to fake anyway. And they are *all* awesome to watch.
- For the lethal surprise La Résistance prepares for Gruda's festival, Professor Prudence engineers Leonardo da Vinci-esque war machines such as cannon carts, a proto-machine gun with multiple rifles and even a flamethrower cart. And he basically invents nitroglycerine.
- Humble Bellow's Heroic Sacrifice allows Vallo's ruse to board Gruda's ship to work.
