Awesome / The Choices That Make Us

  • Draco reveals to Harry that the Slytherin inquisitorial Squad Got Volunteered for the job and wanted Umbridge gone just as badly as anyone else after the novelty of having such authority over their rivals quickly wore off. They knew about Dumbledore's Army from the start, sent Dobby to warn them that Umbridge was coming, and deliberately ran in the wrong direction to catch anyone while raiding the D.A. meeting room, all without anyone even suspecting what they were up to until years later. He also asks why the students never wrote letters of protest to try to get Umbridge removed for her illegal acts like assaulting McGonogall when they could have escaped the Hogwarts mail censorship by mailing them from Hogsmeade.
  • After St. Mungo's refuses to treat the dying mother of a muggle-born wizard (who is already fed up with the wizarding world's discrimination), he nearly breaks The Masquerade by sending a video of himself doing magic to every news office he can.
  • Gladys Meadows giving Regulus a The Dark Side Will Make You Forget warning while giving him "a long stare that made the few inches between them feel like an invisible, unbreakable wall."
  • Regulus comes up with a plan to use the polyjuice potion to infiltrate an Order of the Phoenix household and kill or capture several residents. A house elf for that family also gets an awesome moment by apparating a little girl to safety.
  • Snape, a bunch of other Death Eaters, and his mother kill Tobias Snape and Irma Prince's family to pay back years of abuse and provide Tobias a Mercy Kill (he's about to be mindwiped and left homeless during a freezing winter), by sending Tobias to blunder into the Prince estate and get killed, then posing as investigating Aurors so Irma's father and brother will let them past the protective wards.
  • Molly Weasely saves her Living Legend brothers from an ambush less than a year after giving birth to her twins, and later almost saves them a second time during the ambush that they fail to escape. Years later, Narcissa bluntly says that she's not surprised Molly was the one to kill Bellatrix.
  • After Cyrus Diggory (who feels Narcissa was too Easily Forgiven) doses her with veritaserum to learn about any past crimes she committed, Andromeda (while acknowledging that Narcissa has done some bad stuff that she hasn't been punished for), turns this around on Cyrus by asking if any of these crimes have ever involved Cyrus's family (some have, albeit with Amos as an Unwitting Pawn).
