Awesome / Takuya Sugi

Go To

  • Yoshitsune's signature entrance. He climbs up the turnbuckle, has a moment of serene meditation there and then jumps on the adjacent rope to do a somersault to the mat, all while holding his katana. Done this, you know that a little samurai wrestler is gonna kick ass.
  • The Gojo Oohashi evasion. It involves him standing over the ropes or the turnbuckle, baiting his confident opponent into running to make him fall, before Sugi suddenly cartwheels no-hands off the buckle and lands behind the rival, ready to do a superkick him or even an over the top rope 619.
    • A even more jaw-dropping variation happened in the finals of the Dragon Mixture Tournament, when Yoshitsune springboarded towards a dazzled Kota Ibushi: seeing Ibushi was not dazzled enough and instead was about to counter him, Yoshi changed his mind mid-air and did the Gojo Oohashi in midst of the springboard.
  • The Blazing Arrow, in which he runs the entire side of the ring over the rope and dropkicks the opponent in the corner, was such an unique move that it was surprising even in Mexico, which is the mecca of high-flying.
  • Every time Sugi dives over the ropes and lands past the ringside fences.
    • In a particularly awesome moment, HUSTLE Kamen Red performed an Asai moonsault from the top rope and landed so far that the ring crew lost sight of him for a moment.
  • His fake dives, in which he handsprings against the ropes to scare off his opponent in the outside and rebounds back without using the hands.
  • Yoshitsune's debut got his finish over a downed Rasse with a shooting star senton called Shura.
  • During the trios match which sees his debut as Shanao, the blue-clad monk had Mango Fukuda on the mat, so he climbed up the turnbuckle and did a shooting star laterally twisted into a leg drop, while the commentarists freak out and wonder if that was the technique called Kuramahachiryu or only an hallucination.
  • His entire participation in the first Dragondoor event as part of the Taiji Ishimori team. Firstly Sugi came out as Little Dragon, Último Dragón's seed, which was awesome by itself. He was later ganged up by Aagan Iisou, but endured every pinfall attempt and took them off with a double Cyclone Elbow from the ropes. He then aided Ishimori and Kota Ibushi to perform a freaking Doomsday Double Diving Asai DDT. And finally, he eliminated Takuya Sugawara at the end with a Phoenix Dragonrana.
  • Again, his participation in El Dorado Wrestling's debut show. He teamed up with Ibushi and Milanito Collection a.t. again, but this time he came out as El Blazer, a wrestling crazy flying phoenix or something. During the match, Takuya Sugawara constantly tried to overpower him, only for him to be countered every time with all kinds of DDT's, hurricanranas and dives. Shortly after, Aagan Iisou mercenary Ken 45º sieged Ibushi with cheapshots and went for a springboard attack, but Blazer came like "don't touch my pal, you sucker!" and did his own springboard to counter Ken down mid-air. Then a brawl escalated, Blazer was three-teamed and the babyface team looked doomed... until Kondo became distracted, and Blazer nailed the Cielo Perfecto Uno (a springboard dragonrana) onto the him for the pin.
  • When, in a El Dorado event, KAGETORA Irish whipped Blazer against a wall, and Blazer countered by running the wall up like a ninja and doing a moonsault against him.
  • The HUSTLE Kamen Rangers. A team of wrestling power rangers with awesome lucharesu abilities who fought monster clowns and demons. There was not a single non-awesome moment in their tenure.
  • The entire match between Yoshitsune and Jushin Liger.
  • Another shocking moment is when SUGI had the wicked RONIN literally against the ropes and ran them before hurricanrana'ing him to the outside.
