  • Chapter 6: Valyrian Steel is revealed to block a Lightsaber, to Nox's surprise.
  • Chapter 10: Jon completes his trial and becomes a full-on Apprentice under Nox, discovering several items of importance, including a Kyber Crystal and Dragon Egg.
  • Chapter 11:
    • Jon manages to kill an undead dragon thanks to the help of Oberyn and others, as well as Nox's Lightsaber.
    • Nox easily defeating a Force Ghost.
  • Chapter 12:
    • Jon gets his own Lightsaber, the blade being snow white. And tests it out on the Pirates who raid the Sea Wolf alongside Asha.
      • Nox manages to take out 50 longboats all by himself.
    • Jon easily defeats Ser Gerold Dayne in combat, even after the knight draws live steel and holds him in the air with a Force Choke.
  • Chapter 18: Benjen & a few other Black Brothers decide to kill the remaining coup members. When several members protest, pointing out that they took the Black, Benjen retorts by utilizing some Loophole Abuse, that they took the Black but aren't Black Brothers yet & reminds them that he may be a First Ranger of the Night's Watch, but he was a Stark first.
Ryswell Lad: Wh–What are you doing, Stark?! What nonsense is th–?!"
Benjen: "I told you. It's a shame that so many of you died while trying to escape. We really could've used more men on the Wall."
Another man: "You – You can't do this! We – We took the Black! You – You're a member of the Black! You – You can't do this!"
Benjen: "Aye, you decided to take the Black, but none of you are Black Brothers yet. And, yes, I am a man of the Night's Watch and the First Ranger to boot. But before that, I was a man of House Stark. And while I might have given up my name, I still carry the blood of the wolf in my veins. The same blood that you lot tried to end."
  • Jon's duel with Meryn Trant in chapter 19 of A Trial by Combat. It's every bit as awesome as it sounds. Jon ends up winning & Trant is removed from the Kingsguard as a result.
    • Before said duel, Jon volunteers to stand as Champion for the Crown, much to the mockery of several people in the throne room. Robert doesn't laugh at him but does acknowledge his bravery then points out that a Trial by Combat isn't for a 'greenboy'. For the first time in his life, Jon gets angry at a another being placed upon him (& one that stings more than being called a bastard) & then listed the trials & tribulations he's went through. By the time he's finished, the throne room is silent & Robert is impressed with him.
Robert: "Ah, your bastard boy. And the sorcerer's squire from what I've heard. You got a set of balls, boy, but a Trial by Combat is no place for a greenboy."
Jon: "A greenboy?" Jon wasn't sure why, but the label stung more than being called a bastard. "I killed my first man over a year ago while traveling with the Wolf Rangers to hunt down the sellswords who were plaguing the trade roads in the North. I stood with Lord Nox and other brave men and women from both the North and Dorne as he led us into the very depths of Old Valyria. I killed a dragon that'd been slumbering in Valyria since before the Doom while on foot. I fought and defeated Ser Gerald Dayne in Sunspear with nothing more than a training blade while he used live steel. And I am Lord Nox's Apprentice, your grace. Not a greenboy."
The laughter that'd been ringing through the hall was silenced yet again by the time Jon finished speaking. And without even realizing it, he'd taken a few steps closer to the king, an act which had drawn the attention of several of the Kingsguard who were now flanking the king on either side. But the king didn't seem to mind in the slightest. In fact, he had a small smile on his face as the two stared each other in the eyes.
Robert: "Gods boy, how in the Seven hells do you get through doors with balls that big?" The king laughed, slapping his thigh. "You remind me of myself when I was your age, boy. And your eyes…I see those rumors about you Starks and your wolf eyes aren't just tales. Hmm. Ned, he's your son. But I say let him fight."
  • Jon finally being legitimatized as a Stark. Awesome Moment of Crowning it may not be, but Awesome Moment of legitimization works too & Jon does sure deserve it.
Jon: All his life, there was one thing he ever wanted. And now, he had that one thing. To be recognized as a Stark. A true Stark.
  • Davos saving Loras from being killed after the latter attempted a Leeroy Jenkins by knocking him out in a surprising display of movement from a man of his age.
  • Nox's word game with Varys regarding the Game of Thrones, which Nox regards as child's play. It's enough to impress & unnerve the normally unflappable Varys, who himself mostly keeps his composure.
  • Ned putting Hoster Tully in his place in Chapter 21. After the latter insults Jon, then he demands that he fosters Sansa & Arya in Riverrun in the hopes of making them into proper Ladies of the Realm, especially Arya, stating that he wouldn't hesitate to physically discipline them if necessary. All of it without Ned's consent. Furious with his good-father, Ned wrecks the man's solar, crashing it upon Hoster, then giving him a "The Reason You Suck" Speech, pointedly not acknowledging his Lordly title.
Ned: There was a time when you frightened me, Lord Tully. But no longer. You are not a man to be feared, but a snivelling coward who thinks he knows what's best for everyone and damns anyone else's opinion. I married your daughter to honor the agreement between our Houses and to gain the allegiance of the Riverlands against the Mad King. An allegiance you held hostage pending on not only my own marriage, but on the marriage of you second daughter to Jon Arryn as well. Even if I did not know or even love Cat when I married her, love did eventually come between us despite our disagreements. And it is only because of the love I hold for your daughter and the fact that my children share blood with you that I shall take this no further unless you press the issue.
Hoster: Those girls are of House Tully! And in the name of the Seven, I will see them raised as is proper just like their mother would have want-
Ned: You have no idea what Cat would want for her girls, Hoster. Sansa and Arya may be of House Tully. But they are firstly of House Stark. They are wolves of the North. And when the cold winds blow and the snow rise, the pack weathers what storms may come and survives. You'd best remember that Hoster. For winter is coming. And only a fool makes enemies of family when it arrives.
    • Later on in the same chapter, Walder Frey, who stupidly runs his mouth one too many times, gets put in his place by Nox as the old, shrivelled worm that he is. Reading the scene is nothing short of cathartic for those who absolutely loath the man.
Walder: Heh, you can never have too many children, Stark. There's nothing sweeter than a young flowers honey to have all to yourself… And unlike some women, a Frey girl knows her duty in carrying a son to birth.
Jon, Robb, Ned, and the Greatjon all involuntarily took a step away from him as the temperature in the room plummeted. At the high table, the young Lady Frey suddenly started shaking while Ser Stevron started blowing into his hand, wondering how and why he could suddenly see his breath in the air. And Walder, the old fool was helpless to do anything but stare at Nox as he calmly and slowly took a few steps towards the Lord of the Crossing. With a calmness that surprised even himself, Nox focused his full attention on the old fool who was clearly doing everything in his power not to piss himself.
Nox: I do hope, Walder Frey, that your words were merely just a slip of the tongue and not an intentional slight against my wife who lost our child after being stabbed in the womb by a man who sided with traitors and broke the laws of gods and men.
Walder, showing an incredible lack of self-preservation, merely snorted.
Walder: Recent events speak for themselves, sorcerer. Though, what more could you expect after marrying a low-born whor—?
Nox moved without thought, his right hand rising in the blink of an eye as the small coin purse he kept on his waist was shredded as the coins within tore themselves free on his command. The gold flew faster than the eye could follow, crossing the distance of the hall in less than a fraction of a second. The silver cup in Walder's hand shattered and several strands of his hair fell listlessly to the ground as five gold coins cut through both as if neither was there before embedding themselves into the back of Walder Frey's chair.
Lowering his arm, Nox slowly approached the high table. The Lady Frey was cowering against the arm of her chair, making herself as small as she could while simultaneously trying to put as much distance between herself and her husband as possible. Ser Stevron Frey had knocked his chair back, his hand on the hilt of the short sword at his waist. But unfortunately for the heir to the Twins, he was unable to draw the blade no matter how hard he tried as Nox kept the blade within its sheath with only minimal effort on his part. And as for Walder, the Lord of the Crossing was frozen stiff in fear as Nox poured a constant stream of the dark side of the Force off himself and into the old man.
Reaching the high table, Nox increased the flow of the dark side within him, making Lord Frey break out into a cold sweat and for the Lady Frey to faint in her seat.
Nox (In Tranquil Fury): We came here to pass your bridge and head home, yet you impeded our path. Hoping to use the death of your traitorous son to induce a sense of guilt within us and then leverage our desire to return in order to expand your own feeble concept of power by tying your House to House Stark through marriage. Lord Eddard heard your proposal, and politely denied the immediate request. Far politer than he should have in my opinion. But you took it as a slight. And then you lashed out and insulted my wife. I have killed greater than you for far less.
Pausing, Nox raised his hand, finger extended towards the man's racing heart.
Nox: It would be so easy. An old man like you. Your heart is on its last leg as it is. A simple touch with the Force, and your heart would falter and fail. Leaving you to suffer in agony as you clutched at your chest, begging for one more moment of life.
The unmistakable smell of urine permeated the air as the Lord of the Crossing lost control of his bladder, the sight and smell bringing a smile to Nox's face.
Nox: But, lucky for you, I don't feel like dealing with the fallout your death would no doubt cause. Even if killing every Frey within this castle would be easier than my morning exercises. So, this is what is going to happen. Embedded in your chair are five gold coins. That is your toll, Lord Walder and allow us passage across the Twins. Should you, or any of yours feel the need to impede us further, then I will sink the Twins into the Green Fork with every Frey still trapped within its walls. Do we have an understanding, my Lord? Good.
Turning on his heel, Nox didn't wait to hear the response from the Lord of the Crossing as he used the Force to throw the doors to the hall open, allowing him to march out.
  • Robert gets a few in Chapter 25: First, upon seeing Tommen's fawn, Ser Prance being mutilated by Joffrey's lion, Pride, finally realizes how neglectful he's been towards Myrcella & Tommen, resolves to be a batter parent to them. Then, he storms up to Joffrey's chambers & stabs Pride through the heart with Dragon's Bane. Robert then smacks Joffrey (After he tried to charge at Robert with a whipping stick in hand!) & warns him & Cersei that if Joffrey so much as breath the wrong way, it's a one way ticket to the Wall. For those who despise Joffrey & Cersei. It's a must read.
  • Chapter 25: Nox unleashing a Force Storm against Crowkiller, Weeper, Harma, Rattleshirt & their forces. It is nothing short of a deathtrap that tears the approaching army to shreds. Everyone else can only watch in a mixture of shock, awe & terror.
    • Robb blowing the Horn of Winter, causing an avalanche that devastates the enemy army.
  • Gendry managing to reforge Valyrian Steel! The first one created since the fall of the Valyrian Empire. Even Stannis is speechless.
  • Daenerys becoming more assertive & confident before her storyline in canon started. Where to start? After learning more about her family's history, she firmly believes that her brother's dream of reclaiming the Throne is nothing more than a dream. Thanks to Jon & later Nox's tutelage, she ends up starting to use the Force proficiently, warding off multiple attackers (though she didn't kill anyone) & suggesting to Viserys to tell her where they're going next, persuading Illyrio Mopatis to give her Dorea's debt contract & then destroying it. Upon meeting Khal Drogo, she stands tall & proud & makes it very clear that she won't be pushed around & Force chokes one of his blood riders when he insults her, greatly impressing Drogo. Oh, and the kicker? She has four dragon eggs now.
    • Drogo gets one as well. Daenerys insists on him passing her Engagement Challenge in order to prove his worthiness to marry a daughter of Valyria. The challenge being to discreetly kill a Pentosi magistrate and bring her the head. Drogo passes with flying colors.
Daenerys: A day's ride south of Pentos, there is a manse under the control of one Magister Rabier. The challenge for my hand, Khal Drogo, is thus. You will prove your skill as a warrior by assaulting the manse with only yourself and your bloodriders. You will prove your cunning by making sure that your actions will not be known beyond those of us here. You will show your control, both over yourself and those you command, by leaving those who do not fight against you untouched by blade or flesh. And you will prove your desire to be my husband, by placing the head of Magister Idol Rabier at my feet.
  • Jon's rematch with Gerold Dayne in Chapter 32 is nothing short of a Curb-Stomp Battle for the former. Jon himself is mildly surprised with how much he's improved.
    • Prior to this, Jon mentions that he's been able to start pressuring Nox in sparing.
  • Chapter 32: Daenerys putting Jorah Mormont through a Secret Test of Character to determine his honesty by asking him if he found honor & satisfaction in serving her father, the Mad King. When Jorah fails by lying to her face, Dany reveals the ruse & warns Jorah that she won't tolerate dishonesty & false platitudes from him again, least he finds himself not on her side.
  • A reiteration of this classic scene:
Daenerys: Tell the column to stop.
Jorah: You want the entire horde to stop? For how long?
Daenerys: Till I command them to continue.
Jorah: Now you're sounding like a queen.
Daenerys: Not a queen, Ser Jorah. A khaleesi.
  • After several failing attempts during her sword fighting lessons with Drogo, Dany, angry & humiliated at not being taken seriously lashes out with the Force...only for Drogo, who crossed his arms over his face & took the attack head on. The only indication he was affected at all was the drag marks made by his boots. Impressed with her ferocity, Drogo finds Dany a teacher in the ways of the blade. Apparently, Drogo pulled a Secret Test of Character on her.
  • Dany's brief sparing with Rakharo.
  • Daenerys fully standing up to her brother and proving that she Took a Level in Badass by Force Choking him & giving him "The Reason You Suck" Speech. By the end of it Viserys' expression is one of fear. Oh & she instructs Irri to take his horse away as having him walk on foot would teach him some manners.
Daenerys: "You are my brother, Viserys, and I can forgive much regarding your transgressions. But remember, I am now Khaleesi to Khal Drogo. His people are my people, and they are not as forgiving as I. Continue abusing your privilege as a guest amongst my people, brother, and not even I will be able to save you from the repercussions of your actions. Irri. Take my brother's horse. Perhaps some time on foot will teach my brother some manners."
    Irri': "For how long, Khaleesi?"
Daenerys: "Until I feel that he has learned his lesson."
  • Daenerys destroys the Undying in Chapter 39 and rescues Rhaego and Droga.
  • Jory Cassel manages to give Nyra, Osha, Sansa, and Arya enough time to escape the Red Keep, matching Ser Jaime Lannister himself in the process.
