Awesome / Skull Island (2023)

• The very first episode has Annie escaping a ship crewed by a team of mercenaries. This involves using a lighter thrown on spilled gasoline, all while handcuffed.
• In episode four, Annie tells a story of how she once fell into a pit of Big Creepy-Crawlies. Since Dog was too little to help her, she killed all the bugs by herself with her bare hands and stacked them up together to form a ladder out of the pit.
• The show definitely embraces the awesome aspects that come with being part of the MonsterVerse, but some particular moments include:
  • Kong, his human ally, and a bird he has apparently trained to assist him taking on a bunch of chameleon-looking Kaiju
  • Kong’s fight with the Kraken. He pummels it, and when that doesn't suffice, he rips it in half.
  • Also considering this creature had killed a whole tribe of humans as well as the one who he had grown close to and had been taunting Kong by throwing creatures from the sea into his vicinity, it's super cathartic to see Kong take it out on his own.
