Inspector Janvier gets one in "Maigret's Dead Man", when he manages to beat an armed thug to the draw, despite the man having already taken his gun out.
Maigret himself also gets one in "Maigret's Dead Man", at the end following Dacourt dismissing the people he murdered as unimportant little people, Maigret gives him a graving "Reason You Suck" Speech, that completely takes the wind out of his sails.
Maigret: He was more successful than you, because he didn't end up like an animal in a cage, despised by everyone, with nothing to look forward to except his execution.
