• Boy saving Joel from the frog monster by biting its tongue when it grabs Joel with it.
• Joel's first real moment of fighting back against the monsters, when a giant centipede has encircled Boy. At first Joel freezes like he does every time he's in danger, but something different happens this time and he gets to his feet and readies his crossbow. Joel shouts at it to get its attention and then shoots it in the face. Twice!
• Joel throwing a grenade into the mouth of the Sand Gobbler Queen at the right moment to destroy it.
  • It should be noted this was done with 0 time to spare, as Joel spent seconds 1-4 fumbling said grenade.
• Aimee blocking two shotgun blasts from Rocko and then whacking him over the head with her shield.
• Joel freeing the giant crab from Cap's electrical chains, and the crab getting sweet revenge against Cap and his goons.
• Boy's Big Damn Heroes moment at the end, where he comes dashing to Joel's rescue just in time to help with the final battle.
