  • Desert Bus for Hope 5. Where to begin?
    • The Live Auctions managed to provide a significant amount of awesome this year.
      • The user Ducttape managed to win a fierce bidding war against dave_random with a massive $3339. For a scarf. Made extra awesome due to Ducttape Space Bidding (bidding against their own bid in order to drive the price up).
      • The user Dostrow managed to win a custom sketch of Yoda from Ken "Value Added" Steacy for $5700.
      • A sheet of Magic: The Gathering foil rares went up for auction, which was awesome in itself, but then the winning bid went to Notch for $10,000. Yes, that Notch. To make things even more awesome, Notch's $10,000 bid was $3,500 over the previous high bid. Which was also Notch's doing.
    • Kate managed to club Alex by baking a cake around it, then giving the cake to Alex for him to slice.
    • Alex gets clubbed once again, but then the feed goes down. When it comes up, he has taken the entire crew hostage in revenge.
      • And then:
Alex: ANYONE ELSE WANNA CLUB ME?!
    Crew: *muffled refusals*
    James: *appears and clubs Alex*
    Alex: *walks away defeated*
    Alex: *puts gun to head*
    Alex: *now off-screen* BANG!
    ...
Graham: (While still muffled) Well that got dark.

  • Desert Bus for Hope 6 is already chock full of these.
    • Most notably, they hit $1,000,000 in total donations doing Desert Bus. They danced Gangnam Style as a result/reward.
  • Desert Bus 7, with less than 90 minutes to go, reached more than $500,000 in donations - with more than $100,000 coming from Paul's shift alone.
    • Notch bidding $10,000 for a packet of silica gel (and a scarf).
  • Desert Bus 8 was held in Victoria's Fort Tectoria (aka the 'Lunar Module'). Noticing other social functions in the building one night, the crew decided to conga-line right through the party next door. A few minutes later, two of the attendants crashed Desert Bus right back: the British Columbia Minister of Technology and a member of the Legislative Assembly. They promptly showed the politicians the video Going To The Store. They got away with it to the point that one of the politicians offered up a houseboat vacation that auctioned for $5,000, and Graham and Kathleen were later formally recognized on the floor of the BC Legislature.
  • Alex's speech at the end of Desert Bus 10. He reminds the audience of the power of their generosity and what they are capable of, especially considering what has been seen for the last week. It has to be seen to be believed.
Alex: "The spirit of Desert Bus; the spirit of compassion, generosity, mercy, the spirit of hope; cherish it, keep it, USE it. Fuse it into your heart and imbue every person you touch with that power so that it reaches far and wide into the world. Let it grow like the spreading branches of a tree atop us all, and in doing so heal a hundred-thousandfold in your lifetime what we manage in a week. For the children, for each other, for the world. Now! Together!"
  • Desert Bus For Hope 2017: For the change in drivers on Saturday night, they did an impersonation of the Saturday Night Live opening credits that has to be seen to be believed, complete with marching band.
