  • Any time that Himura is finally able to put the pieces together and enact his Flashback-Montage Realization while the main theme of the series plays.
  • At the climax of "An Odd-looking Customer", Himura gives his summation to the culprit but is unable to arrest him due to lack of evidence. In a refreshing break from the lead character always solving the crime, the day is saved by the rest of the police force working tirelessly to question all potential witnesses and scour the area for anything that could be evidence, eventually turning up a knife with the culprit's fingerprints.
  • Akemi finds herself Alone with the Psycho when she meets the serial killer Apollo in public and discovers a knife in his bag. When he asks whether he should kill her, or if she'll run away and scream, she instead grabs his arm and keeps him in place until the police are able to arrive.
  • The final episode sees Moroboshi nearly making an escape due to her mole in the police force hijacking the ambulance that's taking her to the hospital. Suddenly, a gun is put to his head, and it's revealed that Nabeshima had figured out his intentions and followed along in disguise. While they still escape thanks to Moroboshi waking up and shooting Nabeshima, he still gets props for managing to aim with his injured arm and shoot her accomplice in retaliation.
  • The culprit of "Waiting for Jack the Ripper" tries to kill themself with a knife after they're discovered. It seems for a moment that they've succeeded, until it's revealed that Himura rushed in at the last second and caught the blade with his bare hand, which barely seems to faze him as he stares down the culprit.
Himura: I won't let you continue to have your way.
