Thought: This Place is Falling Apart

My first venture out into Possum Springs in the daytime consists of Mae telling people that she dropped out of college and me jumping onto telephone wires because I can. Mae met an old teacher (who promised to take her stargazing), insulted a restaurant in the town’s underground, and met some Lori kid who knows about the time she put someone in the hospital. But none of that matters because I can't jump on top of the Snack Falcon building even though I totally should be able to. Eh, whatever.

I only met Gregg five seconds ago and he's already doing the flappy-arm thing. He's so happy, I love this.

Gregg rulz ok

I have to agree with the notebook on this one, he's made a good first impression. After the encounter at Snack Falcon, Gregg drags Mae to the Party Barn so that they can reunite their band. Gregg's boyfriend Angus is there and Mae's other old friend Bea shows up not long after, and before I know it, I'm thrown into another rhythm minigame.

Good news: I didn't suck as much on Die Anywhere Else as I did on Cosmic Dragon or whatever the one in Mae's room was called.

Our merry band of dorks heads over to the diner to celebrate Mae's return over pizza, and then Gregg says this legendary line as they discuss their jobs:

Gregg: "I'm lord of the Snack Falcons!"

Yes you are, Gregg, yes you are. The diner conversation turns somber when Mae asks about Casey, yet another friend who just up and vanished while Mae was at college. I think I might know what happened to Casey? I'm not too sure, I'm probably remembering that spoiler wrong.

There's a severed arm outside the diner, and as all responsible adults would, Gregg and Mae decide to poke it with a stick. Sadly, I couldn't poke the cockroach scuttling around it, but I did move the cuff a little bit to reveal a black diamond tattoo. Weird. Then Mae's aunt shows up and ruins our fun. Dang.

Bea drives Mae home. And by that I mean she tells Mae to get out like, three blocks from her house. How polite!

Mae has an awkward conversation with her dad about last night and they agree to start over. Their idea of starting over is basically "hi dad" "hi Mae" "I'm going to bed" "okay". I then proceed to not go to bed because he has another conversation that I want to see.

Mae's Dad: "Okay really Mae don't poke dead body parts with sticks."

That was worthwhile. I kinda like the lack of commas in some sentences, makes things feel more casual.

Okay, so it was Space Dragon and not Cosmic Dragon that I played in the bass. Doesn't matter, I still sucked at it.

As I end the second day, I have to wonder… does Mae ever change her shirt? Also, when do the magic dreams start?
