TEG Chapter 12: On Prayer, Eunuchs and Fratricide

Written By: Thomas
POV: Percy
Deaths: Tyson (1)

BIC declares his intention to help Harry Potter fans realize how sinful the books are, and he hopes his critics go to hell.

Percy tells the Dare family to not mock God, and that he used to be a sinner who had sex with a "whore," but has changed now.

Jerry points out an obscure rule saying that since Rachel's father removed his "testacies" in an unknown time (as far as I know, nothing like that happened to Mr. Dare in canon), he is not able to enter God's church, yet another obscure Bible rule that no one pays attention to anymore. He then says that Mr. Dare can pray at home, and everyone else should go to church once a week.

Jerry then goes on a tangent about how people should pray whenever they can, wherever they are, and regardless of who tries to stop them. True to form, he says this can potentially involve employees quitting their job, employers firing people who complain about their praying, and people going to prison rather than obeying the Satanic laws of man.

With the chapter mostly done, Percy goes to his "friend" Tyson (actually his half-sibling on Poseidon's side of the family) and asks him to convert lest he go to Hell. Tyson says that he loves to sin too much, and Percy singlehandedly stones him to death, committing fratricide and doing something worse than anything he did as a villain. Percy then contemptuously says that Tyson was a fool and died a fool's death before moving on to Camp Half Blood.

BIC ends the chapter by refusing to delete the story and demanding that we convert.

There are many fics in which the authors stop the story to preach at you about their opinions, and in a fic like The Prayer Warriors, such parts are quite frequent and obvious.

Next Installment: Jerry and his wife Mary discuss an issue.
