Little Army 2 Chapter 9: Lost The Battle, Not The War

Before we begin, I'd like to apologize for the lack of updates. Part of it is because the liveblog has become something of a secondary priority at best for me, and part of it is the same might be said of the translators' work on the various manga series.

Another announcement that I'll make is that I haven't been able to see "der Film" yet, and so will have to skip MLLSD 33 for the time being.

Bellwall unleashes a salvo on Black Forest, but it appears that their enemy is wising up to them, and realizes they're scouting. Emi, painfully aware of this, suggests that victory is beyond their reach, if they're denied this benefit now that they only have three tanks against seven, and the Panzer II doesn't really count in Emi's eyes.

Of course, though, Bellwall comes up with a plan, one that involves taking advantage of the Panzer II being discounted. That said, Erika's determined not to be fooled, so that she won't make a fool of herself in front of Maho.

In the end, though, Bellwall loses narrowly, and Erika is surprisingly graceful in victory. As the end of match ceremony progresses, Sheska arrives, prompting Erika to demand an explanation for her absence. Instead, though, Emi denies the possibility that her being there would have changed anything, and suggests that Sheska doesn't need to do anything, except maybe pay her back with a tank.

Bellwall comes together for the loss, and while Hitomi cries over being unable to fulfill their promise with Miho, Emi is simply glad to have her around. Chihiro then stops by later that evening, and casually mentions that she's brought Miho along.

Miho greets everyone, and while Hitomi is happy to see her again, and Chihiro has already done so, Emi is tongue-tied, since she, unlike Miho, does not believe that she has found her way of tankery. Miho's fairly comfortable around them by comparison, although she does apparently feel a bit awkward using honorifics on her friends. Chihiro, who's apparently filled out in the years since, shocks Hitomi by seemingly claiming to have a boyfriend, causing Hitomi to chase her off.

It also turns out that since Oarai experienced "some trouble," and lost to Continuation (it's a bit surprising that a relatively low-tier school managed this, although Miho seems to imply [[WorfHadTheFlu extenuating factors were at play), they will be facing off against Bellwall in two days. Hearing this, Emi undergoes an epiphany, and realizes that she already has found he way of tankery.

Next Installment: Der Film begins.
