INTERMISSION 2: Love is the master key that opens the gates of happiness.

That's an Oliver Wendell Holmes quote, by the way. Okay, so immediately after I finished typing that previous installment (I always type in a word processor program, and then copy & paste it into my liveblog, in case there's some kind of internet connection error), I did a challenging Risen fight. Level 11 to 14 enemies when most of the party is around Level 10...yikes. Thankfully, the opponents consisted almost entirely of archers (which can't attack at close range), and one of the foes was a special Entombed Risen that granted me 100 experience points upon slaying it. Anyways, I got through the battle and earned a few more supports...one of which is OUR FIRST MARRIAGE! Woohoo! Let's watch some sparks fly, shall we? ...Oh, and a few other supports, too.

  • STAHL & MIRIEL (S-RANK): Sentimental music is playing in the background. Stahl's working as hard as he can to make sure that everyone else has to work even harder in order to remain above average. Miriel's amazed by his remarkable, extraordinary skill at being perfectly ordinary, which kind of makes sense to Stahl at this point. However, Stahl admits that there's one thing he's discovered that is not average. When Miriel wants him to clarify, Stahl blushes and stumbles over his words a bit, but admits that he has a more than average amount...of love for her. In fact, he loves her more than anyone else in the world. Miriel asks if this is a joke to get revenge for all the strain she's put him through, and Stahl pulls out a ring to prove his sincerity. He wants to be her husband, and while he originally disliked all the work he had to go through, he's now thrilled to be a part of her studies and become better than he had ever been before. Miriel admits that she's anxious to continue her observations, and that she does harbor some affection towards Stahl as well. The mage accepts the ring and Stahl's proposal, and is amazed that for the first time in Stahl's life, he's striving to be more than average at something...being a loving husband. Stahl says that he loves her, and while Miriel can't quite spit it out, she's blushing heavily and says that she finds him quite agreeable.
  • Yukari & Ricken (B-Rank): Ricken is still stuck when trying to write a letter to his parents. Yukari asks him why he doesn't go home for a quick visit and talk with them directly, at least once their current problems have settled down. Ricken tells the tactician that he comes from an old, respected family that has recently fallen into serious disrepair. By succeeding in this war, Ricken does more than save various innocents from danger; he restores his family's reputation as well. And he doesn't want to go home until that happens. Yukari's amazed at the burden Ricken's willing to place on himself, and when she remarks about how odd it is to imagine a model son running around and dismembering Risen, the boy asks her to knock it off. Yukari then tells the mage that he should probably focus harder on writing his letter, since a good son spares his parents from worrying. Ricken agrees and starts writing something down, though Yukari has a bit of fun making suggestions that are overly dramatic.
  • Frederick & Virion (B-Rank): Freddy has just helped Virion avoid a stern man that Virion owes a freakish amount of money to. Freddy wonders just how the archer got such a debt, and Virion states that there are many ways, preferably all accomplished at once. Freddy then inqures as to why, before the man that had come to collect money departed, he offered to help finance the Shepherds (an offer that was declined, by the way). To Virion, it seems like a logical decision. Apparently, if Virion were to die in battle before being able to repay the debt, it dies with him. By paying for Virion's safety with a small (in comparision) amount of money, the man will eventually get his payout. Freddy's amazed that Virion's racked up a debt so large that another man's welfare depends on the archer's survival, and can't decide whether it's genius or madness. Freddy warns the man that if his sly trickery ever becomes a burden to Chrom, Freddy will make him pay, and Virion promises to never cause Freddy's lord harm.

Next time, we'll head to the Plegia Castle Courtyard and try to rescue Emmeryn! Until then, here's another question: Who should we use our Seals on, when we decide to use them? Currently, here are the only people that can use them:

  • Yukari, Lv. 16 (almost 17) Tactician. Knows the skills Veteran and Solidarity. All units can equip up to five skills, and can learn two new skills for every class they become. Can Master Seal to a Grandmaster, or Second Seal to almost any first-tier class in the game. The exceptions are Fighter and Barbarian, which are exclusive to male characters.
  • Stahl, Lv. 11 (almost 12) Cavalier. Knows Discipline and Outdoor Fighter. Can Second Seal to an Archer or Myrmidon, or Master Seal to a Paladin (geared towards offense and Pair Up bonuses) or Great Knight (Freddy's default class, which can wield all melee weapons).
  • Miriel, Lv. 10 (halfway to 11) Mage. Knows Magic +2 and Focus. Can Second Seal to a Troubador (Mari's class) or a Dark Mage (though we'll get our first default dark mage soon), or Master Seal to a Sage (wields tomes and staves) or a Dark Knight (wields swords and tomes).
  • Frederick, Lv. 3 (halfway to 4) Great Knight. Knows Discipline and Outdoor Fighter. He cannot Master Seal, as he's already in his second tier. He could Second Seal to a different second-tier class once he reaches Lv. 10, but for now, he can only access the first-tier classes Cavalier, Knight, and Wyvern Rider.
  • Gregor, Lv. 10 (almost 11) Mercenary. Knows Armsthrift and Patience. Can Master Seal to a Hero or Bow Kight, or Second Seal to a Barbarian (there is no character that begins as a Barbarian or Berserker, by the way) or Myrmidon.
  • Chrom, Lv. 12 (nowhere near 13) Lord. Knows Dual Strike+ and Charm. Can Master Seal to Great Lord, or Second Seal to a Cavalier or Archer.

Thanks to Merchants, Renown rewards, and the last story battle, I currently have one Master Seal and three Second Seals. Personally, I suggest that we save two seals for Lissa and Mari, since they cannot defend themselves in combat and can upgrade or shift into a class that can. Additionally, we can buy more Master Seals once we reach Chapter 12. And of course, if you think we shouldn't use these seals immediately, we won't. But it can't hurt to plan ahead, can it? Thank you for your time, and have a wonderful day!

I'd vote for Promoting one out of Maribelle or Lissa, Class Changing the other one, and doing the same for Yukari and Donnel if/when he becomes relevant.

I usually do a rule of leaving units to level up to 15 before promoting. So, the only one I would recommend would be getting Yukari to be a Grandmaster.

I'd promote Yukari to Grandmaster, since those robes are awesome as hell. Not sure about the second seals though.
