Virbank Gym
I walked down the sleazy stairwell to the basement of the building, where I could here music blasting.
Clyde: "Hold on, buddy, I'm the bouncer, here. I need to check to make sure you're clean."
He waved his hand and made a spiral of water swirl around me.
"Agh, what?!"
He retracted it.
Clyde: "You're clean. Literally so, now."
He filtered out the contaminants and put it in an empty bottle, before giving it to me.
"Uh... gross..."
Clyde: "Nope, I purified it!"
"Still kinda gross."
Clyde: "Roxie and her band are practicing inside, but feel free to challenge them all. And stay hydrated!"
I opened the door and was blasted away by the sound.
Roxie: "D! O! G! A! R! S! DOGARS!"
Drummer: "What?! We told you to say Pokemon! Nobody knows what Dogars means!"
Roxie: "Back off, our band name is the Dogars, I think they'd know!"
Backup Guitarist: "I can't hear either of you! Just play!"
Roxie: "What? I can't hear you!! I'm still going to sing Dogars!"
Drummer: "What's that? Fine, just don't sing Dogars!"
They continued to play.
"Umm, excuse me."
They continued to play.
"Uh, EXCUSE ME."
Roxie: "WHAT'S THAT? YOU'LL HAVE TO SPEAK LOUDER! I CAN'T HEAR YOU OVER THE SOUND OF OUR MUSIC!"
They continued to play. I went up on the stage and gently tapped Roxie's shoulder.

I began shaking her shoulder, trying to get her attention. She completely failed to notice.
Roxie: "WHAT'S THAT? YOU'LL HAVE TO SHAKE HARDER! I CAN'T FEEL YOU OVER THE SOUND OF OUR MUSIC!"
I went over to the drummer.
"DO YOU MIND TURNING IT DOWN OR SOMETHING?"
Drummer: "Argh, no need to shout, I can hear you just fine, jerk! And just for that, no!"
"What if I beat you in a battle?"
Drummer: "Hah! But you can't win!"
Roxie: "WHAT WAS THAT? YOU'LL HAVE TO SPEAK LOUDER!"
He stopped playing to battle me.
Drummer: "Go, Disable!"
He sent out a Grimer, apparently named Disable. Shellos Mud Bombed, it, reducing its accuracy.
Drummer: "Disable, use Disable!"
The Grimer missed, accidentally striking itself with its own Disable ray.
Foe Disable's Disable was Disabled!
Shellos finished Grimer off, and the drummer sent out a Koffing. I gave Natu a second chance, and Natu was able to defeat Koffing with Night Shade spam.
Drummer: "Fine, you win."
He didn't resume playing.
"Roxie, can you hear me?"
Roxie: "WHAT? YOU'LL HAVE TO SPEAK LOUDER!"
"ROXIE, CAN YOU HEAR ME?"
Roxie: "WHAT? YOU'LL HAVE TO MAKE THEM QUIETER!"
"Fine... You're next, backup guitarist."
Backup Guitarist: "Hah! I make no promises though!"
She led with a Venipede, who was easily defeated by Bagon. Her Koffing was then Tickled by Aipom and Scratched up.
"Okay, I won."
She started playing again.
"Hey!"
The drummer started playing again too.
"You two are very frustrating."
I stood in front of Roxie.
Roxie: "WHAT?! YOU'LL HAVE TO BE MORE NOTICEABLE! I CAN'T SEE YOU BECAUSE MY EYES ARE CLOSED."
"CAN YOU BATTLE ME NOW?!"
She kept playing. I began trying to pull her away from her stand, and then tried to pull the guitar from her hands. Eventually I succeeded, stopping the music when the other two stopped in shock.
Roxie: "Hey, give that back!"
"Finally, you can hear me-"
She began trying to snatch the guitar back.
"I want to battle you!"
Roxie: "What? Well, why didn't you say so in the first place?!"
"..."
Roxie: "Fine. I'll battle you. Get ready! I'm gonna knock some sense outta ya!"
Gym Battle
Vs. Roxie
Roxie led.
"Oh, a Koffing."
Roxie: "DOGARS!"
"What-gars?"
Drummer: "See? I told you no one would know."
Aipom used Tickle to weaken the Koffing's attack and defense, while it used Venoshock. Aipom, crafty monkey that it is, used Thief to steal and use the Oran Berry it was holding. It almost finished Koffing with Scratch, but fell.
Figuring Roxie would heal, I sent out Litwick and spent the first turn using Will-O-Wisp to burn Koffing.
Roxie: "Wait, is burning a ball of volatile gasses a good ide-"
The Koffing blew up, fainting (Okay, it actually just fell to Ember spam while burned, but...).
Roxie: "Aww! No more messing around! Go, Whirlipede!"
I switched out to Bagon, who... failed to accomplish much of anything before fainting.
Roxie: "Whirlipede is my strongest."
"Then why isn't it a Scolipede?"
Roxie: "Because balance."
I sent out Mienfoo, who whittled Whirlipede down with Pound while surviving Venoshocks. With Whirlipede low on health, I sent out Natu who finished it with Peck.
"I think I've established the pecking order around here."
Roxie: "That pun was bad and you'll pay for it."
Roxie sent out her final Pokemon, a Grimer. I sent out my Shellos. Grimer poisoned Shellos with Poison Gas, and Shellos used Mud Bomb. Next turn, Shellos tried Mud Bomb again, but Grimer Disabled it and Shellos lost its turn. Shellos was then Venoshocked, taking heavy damage, but retaliated with Mud Slap, lowering Grimer's accuracy. Grimer then missed both its Venoshocks the next two turns, and fell to two Water Pulses.
Roxie: "Okay, you won. Here's your proof you beat me, yadda yadda yadda."
She handed me the Toxic Badge. She also gave me a Venoshock TM.
Roxie: "Now give me my guitar back."
"Oh, right."
I handed her back her Scolipede guitar and she smacked me with it.
"Ow, okay, I'm leaving, I had to get you to hear me somehow, I'm sorry."
As I left, some oddball with a very ugly-looking yellow (Not blonde, yellow) afro approached me.
Afroguy: "Hey, random girl! Come with me to Pokestar Studios!"
Roxie: "That reminds me. I need to get the old man back."
The three of us left, leaving Roxie's bandmates behind to look around in confusion.
Roxie and I tried not to look at the man's yellow afro as we followed him.
