In his dream as the arrow is worked on, Perrin sees that the Manetheren Waygate is open, and has a couple run-ins with the Slayer before he’s able to wake up. He reveals the news, but he’s in no shape to go there himself and can only head to Emond’s Field. Once there, it turns out there’s been a lot of Training the Peaceful Villagers in his absence, and the town is heavily fortified. Verin and Alanna have revealed themselves, seeing no point to the disguise any longer, and start getting people moving to take care of the wounded.
And good riddance to the Tinkers again, though there’s undoubtedly more to come. Not much really happens here as we return to setup mode as the climax approaches, but it’s still fun just to see these people interact, especially with Perrin now able to get some good hits back on Zarine. This should be quite a fight, though I’d like to check back in with the other stories before we get to it.
