Go To

Hello again, and welcome to my LP. Last time, we beat that goddamn train, Fluttershy left the party, and Pinkie joined it. Now I need to work out where I need to go next. It probably involves getting a diving helmet.

Wow, I've trained Pinkie's move list up, and some of her new powers are really overpowered. The sonic Boom move, from that monster that was originally found it that chest in the empire camp, I've seen doing over 1000 damage! That train boss only had around 4000HP! It make her versatile, too, since she has various moves with elements too them, like the Blaze attack from the bombs on the Phantom Train. As far as I can tell, Any monster that I defeat start appearing in the veldt for Pinkie to learn moves from, So I really need to come back here later on.

OK Pinkie, Why are you flying? I didn't tell you to do that. Somehow, she got the Float status. One of the Random moves, perhaps. Or because Screw Physics, she is Pinkie Pie and she does what she wants.

Ah, I found a cave to the south end of the veldt. I guess this is where I go next. Luna thinks this is Pinkie's rock farm. Pinkie is acting a bit weird. Though to be fair, that's normal.

It's not where Pinkie lives, apparently. For some reason, she left a present about in there anyway. I guess I'm going to have to look for it.

OK, it looks like I have to find areas in the cave, and Pinkie will search for it. Some areas have different things happen too, Like on one, Pinkie found a tonic for me, though not the present.

Ah! Pinkie just tossed 500GP of a cliff for no reason! I worked hard taking that gold from other people!

It just struck me that there are no monsters in this cave. I guess there are too busy in the veldt, which as far as I can tell is some kind of monster breeding grounds. It's the only reason I can think of that makes all monsters migrate there. Or perhaps it's just a good monster holiday resort? Monsters need days off too, right?

OK, found it. It's a diving helmet. Of course it's the one item I need to progress.

Right, so we no to a nearby river, and dive in to test the helmet. Hopefully, the current should send me near Neighshe.

Yep, underwater contains monsters too. Well, I know what to do at this point.

Ah, as I go though, I get to pick which way to go, like the river raft, but this time, I have to pick quickly, or I miss the junction.

Man, you don't get a break at all during these fights. Your only healing is combat heals.

Huh, an underwater cave. Well, lets go treasure hunting, after healing up with magic.

Ah, we have arrived ashore! In a town too. Well, we know what to do when we find a town. Loot everything not nailed down!

Ah, the town is called Hoofington.

OK... I find a dancer in the cafe. She tries to get AJ to dance. AJ says she doesn't swing that way. The dancer says "Don't sweat it, baby" and pulls her closer. AJ runs head first into a wall trying to get away. Luna tries to calm AJ down, saying the dancer is just a fool. AJ is still adamant she doesn't go that way. The dancer tries to hear what they are saying, and AJ tells her that she isn't looking for that kind of company, so go away. Luna is amused by the whole thing, and Pinkie just looks confused. I kind of want to see this scene in the original version, to see what it is like.

It looks like Hoofington is a port town. I wonder if I can grab a ship?

OK, I check around the overworld, but there isn't anywhere to go. I guess I do have to get a ship.

OK, the shops here only sell one item that's better than what I have for one of my characters.

OK, I'm going to sleep at the Inn. (150GP? the last one was only 100. Damn Inflation.)

Right, there is a ship to south Canterlot. That's where I'm going next, then. It's free too. I guess I work as deck hands to pay for the ride. It's very near Neighshe too. It looks like I'm almost done with Luna and co. Applejack wishes to get some training from Luna. Does that mean I'll get some new skills then?

Ah, It IS the end of Luna and co for now. I'm back on the scenario selector.

Now, I was requested to do Applebloom next, so that's who I will pick. It's not like I have any reason to pick otherwise. ^_^

Right, Applebloom has been slowing down the empire, but now needs to escape to Neighshe. It looks like she is in Canterlot City. It's full Of guards. I guess I'm not supposed to talk to them.

A merchant in the city calls Applebloom out as a thief. She says she only take things from people who needs it. Tsk, Tsk, Applebloom, Don't you know it's wrong to steal? *Cough-What I've been doing all game-Cough*

Oh, crap, the merhant attacks! In return, I use Bloom's Steal command. ^_^

Oh wait, I was meant to do that! I take the merchants stuff, and dress up as her. because why not? (The dressing up involved dyes, because the merchant was a different colour to Bloom. I guess that wasn't part of the original version).

The merchant runs away, because I Stole her clothes. I have no idea why she was embarrassed about that, because most ponies don't wear clothes. In fact, she wasn't wearing any in the first place. I only took dyes and a hat she had, but wasn't wearing.

Well, I have a disguise now. I wonder If I can talk to guards? Yep. They don't move though, so any blocking paths don't move out of the way. Looks like I need to find a new route.

OK, found the new route. There was a colt blocking some stairs. He let me pass as a merchant.

A few ponies in a shop tell me that some soldiers like to start fights. Perhaps I can use that to take some solider garb?

Right... Don't start fights with the soldiers in mech suits...

OK, found one. Hmm, took me a few uses of the Steal command, but I got his armour. ^_^ The solider ran away. I don't blame him for that though. He has no protection now! (I also use some of the dyes from the merchant to get to the right colour again)

I buy some horseshoes. Because I can't stand the normal walk speed.

Mr guard, can you let me into the Chocobo stable? I want one! No? :(

Right, a solider mentioned that forces are soon going to attack Neighshe. Not good.

Wait, a famous general turned traitor is locked up in the city. Zecora?

Ah, I steal from another merchant, who I know give cider to this old mare in the town. Well, lets deliver this cider then.

Right, the mare gives me there is a secret passage, that should lead out of town. Useful. She can't remember the password though...

I get a choice of three passwords. 'Troll','Brony' and 'Hater'. I guess Brony. Yep, it is. ^_^

Secret passage, go!

It leads to that rich stallion's house. The one which I took a ton of gold from. It is now a Imperial Headquarters.

Damn, He did work for the empire! I told you! I was right to take his stuff! Just like the random merchants I run into!

OK, he's regretting betraying the city. It's kind of too late for that now...

Well, I head down the secret passage I found when I was first here.

I find where that general Is being held. Wait, It's Trixie?! Wow, one of the guards in there with her is just slapping her.

Oh God, I'm naming her. I get her in my party? Yes!

It looks like she turned traitor because of the empire's use of poison. The Attack on Sweet Apple Castle perhaps?

Well, lets go save her! Have at you guard! Wait... He's asleep... After boasting that he could stay awake for days. Fail.

Well, let's untie Trixie.

Oh, right, I'm still in the merchant outfit. Trixie thinks I'm trying to sell her stuff. Wait, so she thinks someone who just broke into a enemy HQ, and freed her from a prison is only doing that to sell her stuff? And I thought our salesmen were persistent. ^_^

AB removes the dye, and says she is from the Republic. Trixie is not happy by this, but nevertheless agrees to come along!

OK, I take a key from the guard. Ah, He woke up! Wait, no, he was just talking in his sleep. Fail.

Right, Trixie knows magic, (Duh) and has an ability called Unicorn. I don't know what that does yet. It's not the unicorn esper I have? I give that to Trixie anyway to learn a few new spells.

Ah, back to the room full of gold before. Not anymore. ^_^ I didn't find anything before, but this time, I have a clock key. Lets check the clock.

Yep, opens a door!

OK, there are monsters now. Nothing Autocrossbow can't handle though!

Man, this place is a maze. Several passages are not visible due to the top down view I have...

Trixie wonders why Applebloom is healing her. Apparently, Trixie reminds AB of someone, and she couldn't stand letting the empire kill someone else.

And that is it, I'm out of Canterlot City.

I think I will end this off here. I progressed quite a bit, and this is a good stopping point.

Until next time. ^_^

In the GBA version of vanilla FFVI, the bargirl tries to introduce Cyan to Humpty and Dumpty.

I so want to spoil everything. The storyline is very close to FFVI, but the character choices to me are the interesting points. I keep thinking about what the plot is going to do to certain characters and how that fits or doesn't fit with them as they are in the show. Unicorn should allow her to absorb magic-like abilities being used against you. There should be a tutorial in the cave about it. However, one of the things that has been done is moving abilities around. The character Applebloom is based on doesn't normally have tools.

Personally, I think that Zecora, Trixie, and Gilda should be switched around.

That scene between Applejack and Luna is either a reference to or an explanation for the fact that they share a skillset. It doesn't really affect anything, unfortunately.

The Veldt doesn't actually contain every monster, just the ones that Pinkie can learn from, plus a few that the game is confused about. Also, Pinkie's Randoms can give her positive status effects - this was to help make up for the original command taking away your control over the user.

Congratulations on rescuing Celes...I mean, Trixie! I believe that the command that Celes usually has works exactly like how ThAlEdison described Unicorn, but I think both versions will also absorb healing/protection magic cast on her by your allies, so be careful not to abuse it.

Best of luck as you 'hoof' it back to Neishe with the treasure hunter and your fourth magic user!
