The Return Of Harmony Part 4

Hello again, and welcome to my LP. Last time, I defeated the three goddess, and I am now heading out to finally defeat Discord.

I'm not sure what will happen next, so everyone is fully healed and re-equipped after my shuffling of gear to defeat the statues. I get all three of my teams to stand on a set of switches.

This causes a beam of light to appear on all of my teams, and they all get teleported away.

The three teams arrive at the top of Discords tower. Discords voice calls out to them. He appears in front of them, inside this odd blue magic pyramid thing.

Discord says that the group should see the looks on there faces, and asks the teams how they like the new look for Equestria. Funnily enough, they don't like it. Discord just laughs, saying that chaos is a wonderful thing, and asks them to observe.

Discord grabs Fluttershy with telekinesis powers, and lifts her up in the air. (Crap.) He says that the group was the most fun he has had in eons. He picks up Luna, (Double crap.) and says to think of a world with no rules, no plans, just chaos. Pure freedom. He throws them both away.

Twilight steps forward, and counters that that is a world with no peace, no love, and no hope. Discord just looks away, and asks why do ponies even try? Their lives are so short and meaningless. Their only use is to entertain the true master of Equestria, himself. He then says to the group to think about how meaningless their lives are. The pyramid thing changes colour from blue to purple.

Twilight less Discord that life isn't about living for yourself. Every day is it's own paradise! Simple joys like sharing a laugh with a friend, smelling a beautiful flower, or reading good book.

Discord just flings her across the area. She gets back up, and continues speaking, saying that "joy is being true to yourself, working hard, and sharing kindness. Discord asks if she manage to find this paradise in this sea of chaos she calls life? She replies yes. The pyramid is slowly changing colour throughout this.

Twilight walks back to the group (Fluttershy and Luna are unharmed) and says that she has learned what true friendship can be. Bloom says that she has learned to let go of the past and start living for the future. AJ says that her family lives on in her heart. Fluttershy says she has learned that you have to step out of the shadows to make a difference. Luna says that she has remembered the love of her sister once more. Trixie says she has met someone who really cares about her. Rarity says that she has a brave little sister. Dash says that she has her friend's wings, and new dreams to fly to. Scoot says that you are never truly alone if you have an open heart. Pinkie says that making her friends smile makes her whole life worthwhile. These are some good lessons. Shame Celestia isn't her to hear it. Perhaps we should send a letter?

Discord just says to go ahead and try and use your pathetic little friendship magics. Just make it quick! I'm missing some excellent chaos here!

Suddenly, Discord starts shooting a lazer (the light of judgement I guess) at the overworld. The party tells Discord that he isn't being fair. Discord just says that perhaps we haven't met. I am Discord, the spirit of chaos and disharmony! The pyramid disappears. and the area around him starts collapsing. A flaming Pillar lifts up underneath him, raising him into the sky. He declares that he will turn this world upside down. Life as you know it will cease to exist! Another pillar lifts up, raising Twilight. She says that life will never give up. There will always be ponies, and dreams! Discord says No! It is mine to command! You are all savages, the world will reject you! I will create a monument to eternal chaos! Bloom rises up on a pillar, saying that you will never kill anyone ever again. We won't allow it! Discord says that it seems you have found some courage after all. Allow me to take it from you, Painfully! He fires more lasers at the world.

The pillars fall back down, and Discord's pyramid reappears. The group says Discord can't stop them if they stick together!

Ah, now I pick the order that I use people to fight Discord. I guess if one team faints, I can get another team up. It's nice that they all actually get to do fight, instead of forcing me to stick with the 4 man limit. (Bar Celestia and Sweetie, who I can only presume are playing card games to past the time or something.) Now, the question is do I put my strongest guys at the front, or do I scatter them about the order if things go badly?

Well, here is my order, along with their Level and a bit of info on their usage.

1. Trixie. Lv 38. She is a good magic user, and her Unicorn skill can come is useful on a few bosses. It's likely less useful on this boss, as I doubt he will only cast magic, and It will prevent my party from using magic herself.

2. Bloom. Lv 34. Her tools, especially in earlier levels, are often useful. While she has slowly become less useful as enemies has got stronger meaning autocrossbow isn't as effective, and my party's HP has increase meaning medikit is less effective, she is still useful as support. And Her debilitator is nothing short of a godsend on some bosses. Change a move that does no damage to one that does 9999? yes please!

3. Dash. Lv 38. Her usage is mostly random, due to her roulette skill. In bosses she can range from useless to helpful. Her real use is for random encounters, as A, her failing the roulette gives a small party heal, which helps stop the party being slowly worn down, and most of her moves attack all enemies in the battle.

4. Luna. Lv 40. Another member who's use has lessened as the enemies have got stronger, she is still very reliable, especially as she can cast magic as needed. Her fight command isn't too shabby either. Just remember the inputs needed for her skills and you are fine.

5. Faust. Lv 32. Forget what I said about her to begin with, Faust is highly useful, at least with the skill set I have given her. Magic and tools are ideal!

6. Fluttershy. Lv 36. Her use is... debatable. In random encounters, her stare move does tie up one monster, but the monster's attacks are fairly anything useful. Stare also doesn't work on bosses. The throw command can do a fair bit of damage, depending on what you throw, but unless you are really desperate, you shouldn't throw non throwing weapons, as they are limited in number, or more expensive to acquire.

7. Twi. Lv 42. Twi is probably the best caster in the game. Her morph ability just makes her even stronger, though it only lasts for a short time. I haven't used it in ages though, so I should have a good amount of time with it.

8. Derpy. Lv 32. Her use is just one Skill. Soar. With a relic that allows it to hit up to 4 times, and a good spear, she can do around the region of 24000 damage if she gets lucky. I've also noticed it doesn't seem to miss. Her other skill is basically pointless next to this.

9. AJ. Lv 31. AJ is a bit odd, as her skill requires her to charge it up depending on the attack she wants. Since this game isn't turn based, which she charges it up she ties up the whole team since I still need to say when to stop charging, while the enemies can still attack. If you time her charge so she does it while your party members are attacking though (people still wait for attacks to finish before taking their go) she will be finished before it will be holding anyone back. The higher charge moves are quite powerful too.

10. Pinkie. Lv 43. At this point you know what I think about Pinkie. While her other Rage moves are not that good anymore, Catscratch regularly does 9999 damage with one blow, and she gets two hit with it due to a relic. (The second blow is a bit less powerful, hitting around 8000, but still very strong) She is less useful in random encounters, as she can only do that damage on one enemy, while other party members can deal enough damage to kill a normal enemy to all enemies on screen. Also, she still sometimes randomly floats, and I still have no idea why.

11. Rarity. Lv 37 A good magic user again, her Sorcery Skill's moves are outmatched by her Magic moves. It doesn't help that I don't have that many. I think her strongest is one called Grand Train, but I never got that.

12. Scoot. Lv 37 Her dances are OK, but just don't do that much damage. The variety of elements they can be does make it easy for her to abuse any weakness however. The random healing is also nice.

I should Probably talk about Celestia and Sweetie as well.

Celestia was OK, and I can imagine her Summon skill to be useful with stronger espers, I just didn't use espers in battle in my gameplay. They just never seemed worth the MP cost. Her magic was fine, but others did it better.

Sweetie was another fine magic user, but her skill was useless. It has the same flaw of Stare that most monster moves are just not that strong, combined with a good chance to miss.

That's my team. I'm quite proud of it. You might be able to tell that I have gone with sticking my powerful people throughout the list instead of at the front. Perhaps that's a bad idea, but only time will tell.

Sadly I'm not going to be fighting Discord today. I have stuff to do and I have no idea how long the fight and the ending will take. I promise to finish this game tomorrow, you will just have to have a cliffhanger until then.

Until next time! ^_^

Interesting...all this time, and only now do we know what levels your character are at. I'm a tad surprised, to be honest; considering the massive opponents you've recently thought, I had imagined them to be much more experienced. I suppose this means that pure power is no match for a clever strategy when it comes to dealing with a boss.

When it comes to strategies, all I suggest is that you should try to have a strong beginning, and make sure that your healers are spread out in case one gets knocked out. Oh, and when it comes to Fluttershy's Throw skill...well, this is the Final Boss, so go wild with items if you need to!

As always, I've loved this blog, and I promise to be here for the finale!

Enjoy the battle music. The best FF final boss music in my opinion.
