The quest for Applebloom part 3: Back on Track

Hello again, and welcome to my LP. Last time I found where Applebloom was hiding, panicked when I found I needed 2 parties instead of one, and instead ventured inside Applejack.

Now, It's time to finally get Applebloom. Like I said last time, My planned parties are Twilight, Pinkie, AJ, and Dash, which I will call Team Pinkie is Over Powered, or POP for short. (What? I like the Fun with Acronyms Trope.) The other team is made up of Trixie, Luna, Scootaloo, and Fluttershy. They will be called Team Must Oppugn Our Nemesis, or Team MOON. (Yes, Oppugn is a real word, apparently. No, it's not the best fit, but I never said I was good at theFunWithAcronyms Trope.) The plan is basically to get Pinkie to the boss and watch the fireworks.

Team POP moves in first, and Finds a cave with nothing but a floor switch in it. Stepping on it opens a door. I see how this dungeon will work....

Team MOON heads through the door, and finds spikes on the ground. Stepping on them deals 300 damage to all party members. Good to know. Another switch opens a new path for Team POP to take. This path leads to a switch that lowers the spikes on Team Moon's side, and the path ahead is blocked by more spikes. You can probably guess what I need to do to lower them.

Oh, before they go over the lowered spikes, Team MOON go down a side path that leads to a chest. However, in front of it is a pit trap, which they fall down. They land on spikes. I get the feeling I'm going to be hitting spikes alot in this place...

This lower floor actually has several ways back up. I can't reach some of them though. I presume more switches are needed. Well, I go up one path, and it leads to a switch which creates a bridge to that chest that tricked me. It contains a weapon for Bloom called Wind Edge. It apparently does the same amount of damage in the back row as the front.

Team MOON continue there path until they reach a dead end, with a switch. This allows team POP to progress to the lower floor.

Sigh, there are alot of empty chests in this dungeon. The creators of this game are just taunting me now...

Team POP find a switch which opens a path for team MOON on the lower floor. Unlike the others, this one stays active when the party moves off it.

Wow, I am not a fan of some of the enemies in here. There is this floating head one which can deal a straight 1000 damage with one of it's moves. Only 2 of my characters have more than 2000HP. Some enemies can cast zombie on my party. Some can freeze them. All of them are jerks.

... God damn it, I wiped. Two of my party got zombied, and they just murdered the rest of my party.

I have to start from the start of the dungeon... God damn it.

OK, I get back to where I was, and get a bit further. I eventually reunite my two parties, and they stand on a set of floor switches, opening the path ahead. Team POP go on ahead, and reach a small area surrounded by lava, containing a chest, and Applebloom!

Applebloom opens the chest. Twi calls out to Bloom. She turns around, and says she is happy to see us. She says she never though she would find this item and get a chance to bring her back. She means Scratch, right? (Also, I have realised that Scratch is actually Vinyl Scratch. I can't believe I didn't notice that earlier. In my defence, she wasn't wearing her shades.)

Huh? The item is Magicite! It's of the Phoenix itself. (You know, the one that leaves it's down everywhere for adventurers to pick up and use to rez) Apparently, it does not by being killed (it would just rez) but by being petrified.

The Magicite apparently looks cracked. Bloom hopes it still works. She says she wasn't able to save her, and she was never able to forgive herself for it. She had her whole life ahead of her. If it wasn't for Bloom, she would still be alive.

Twi asks if Bloom will come with us. Bloom says only to Coltlingen.

Anyway, we all head back to the airship, and set off to Coltingen. Bloom goes to the basement where Scratch is laid to rest. She places the Magicite on Scratch, but it doesn't seem to do anything. The mare who had been taking care of Scratch's body says if only the Magicite didn't bare such deep cracks, and that Bloom had been wasting her time.

Suddenly, the Magicite starts glowing. It floats up in the air, and a image of a phoenix flashes. The Magicite shatters into sparkles, which rain down on Scratch.

Bloom looks away, thinking that it failed. Then, Vinyl's eyes open, and she says "Bloom..." Applebloom yells Scratches name in happiness.

The image of the Phoenix appears again. Scratch says she is sorry they have to have to meet again like this, but the phoenix is weak. She can't stay for long. Bloom says nothing. Scratch says that they had some really good times together. When the empire came and started pushing the town around, she remembered everything, about how you wouldn't take that lying down! She said the wrong thing to the wrong soldier though, and look where it got her...

The image of the Phoenix fades, and Scratch closes her eyes. Bloom panics. Scratch says "Damn, already..." and tells Bloom that she can't blame herself for this. You believe in something truly beautiful, and are not afraid to share it with the ones you love! You've got your own life to live, don't you dare give up on it! She then yells "Phoenix! Be reborn again!! And give your power to my friend Applebloom!!"

Scratch starts floating. Bloom calls out to her. Scratch turns into sparkles, which then make the Phoenix image appear again, and resurrects it. The phoenix flies off.

Bloom comes upstairs, where Trixie is waiting. Bloom says to Trixie that she is going to be okay. She says she is glad that Trixie was there to see that. She says she though that day would haunt her forever, but she feels she will now be alright. Trixie just nods.

They leave the house. Bloom stops walking, and Trixie asks if she forgot something. Bloom runs back inside, and comes out with a selection of items. Mostly healing stuff, and a new weapon too. They were apparently the treasures in that cave which were originally in all the empty chests. She declares it's time to roll out, as they have an appointment with Discord!

Back to the airship. It seems I get to keep the Phoenix Magicite. It teaches better resurrection spells, and Fire 3.

You know, this game is probably one of the most emotional games I have played. It has so many Player punches that I'm coming away from my play sessions bruised. I like this though. It's nice to have a game that makes me care for the characters, regardless of the fact that they are MLP ponies. Speaking of player punches, I actually want and looked at what happens if I let Seth die when Trixie is looking after him. Basically, she becomes so depressed, thinking that she is the last pony in the world alive, that she attempts to commit suicide. She almost succeeds, too. Just wow... It's defiantly on my list of saddest things in video games...

Anyway, I got Bloom! You know what this means? I have every party member! Now, I have nothing that I wish to do before I take down Discord. I am happy to just head straight for him. However, I think the best thing to do is actually to let you guys decide what I should do next. Should I just start the assault on Discord? Should I attempt the dragons? Should I try the Cultist's tower? Is there any more story things to find? Anything else that would be fun/interesting/helpful? (Actually, that reminds me, I should head back to Neighshe to see what that pony there wanted now.)

Until next time! ^_^

Do every sidequest. That is, burninate some dragons, go attackless up a tower, and maybe find some rare items.

Oh, how I've enjoyed reading each and every entry of this liveblog. It's a shame that the end is in sight, but all good things must come to an end, and I'm glad that I was able to be a spectator to your experiences.

As for what to do now, other than the tower, I read somewhere that there's one other dungeon that's connected to Sweetie and Rarity. The quest starts in Thamasa...or, well, whatever it's now called in this Pony version. Also, I think you already did this, but did you find Luna's master yet?

EDIT: As for that Phoenix Esper, I'd suggest having at least Rarity learn all of its reviving spells before you reach the end of her dungeons.

Now you have Bloom, go back to Neighshe and open some doors.
