Bratz Genie Magic - Part 1: The BGM is actually decent in this movie.

Welcome everybody to the fourth part of the Bratz Megaliveblog thing, this week we put on our Moroccan style skirts (Sorry guys, no pants), ask a doll's magical pot if we get to go to the dance or not and sit down to 'enjoy' yet another Bratz movie.

And a piece of trivia: the Genie Magic line of dolls was released alongside the Princess line of dolls, which the commercial for is surprisingly like some executive having a premonition of Jersey Shore and turning it into a commercial for little girls (Also I really like it and needed to plug in in here somehow, here's the alternate K-pop dance version ).

Anyways, let's begin.

Wait, did I mistakenly step into a James Bond movie? No? Oh wait, there's the obvious lazy bugdet of my beloved MGA. Somebody is being chased around by ten or so spy clones. They sound the alarm and a chase scene ensues (To a somewhat okay hip-hop beat). When the person whose being chased is surrounded, she somehow turns into a gas and escapes through an air vent. She looks back at the ship she was captured in and runs off into the badly designed CGI woods.

Somwhere in a boardroom for the 'ESA', a woman in a catsuit is observing the weather. A man walks up behind her and asks [Zell] how she could let the girl who escaped earlier escape. Zell says she's sorry to Kon, who is too angry to listen since his Project G is now in danger. He puts her in charge of the search and reminds her that means she's personally responsible for finding the girl.

In the rain somewhere on an abandoned streetcorner, there's a club called "Club Maribobo [?]" (In London it's known as PINZ) where the Bratz Rock Angelz are performing. By that, I mean they're shaking their hips on stage, no guitars, no mics, no anything. Just them. Apparently they're also a dance troupe now. Wow. After some stock foogate dancing (in a 2 minute scene!) Jade tells Sasha that Matt Rock, the movie star and billboard hottie who looks exactly like Dylan but 7 years older, is in the audience (In the middle of their performance, no less!). He winks at her and she smiles at him dreamily.

Only Six Faces Check: We have Blonde Boyband Member, 90's Retro Girl, 80's Retro Girl, Sunglassed Fake Tan Networking Guy (Or SFTN Guy), Blonde and Brunette Vegan girls (Blonde is in two places at once), Black 80s mod chick (in four places at once), Hispanic 80s mod chick (in two places at once) and Pink Haired Goth Girl.

The girl from earlier makes her way into the club, where Kirstee and Kaycee make fun of her boho look (You mean the obviously moroccan inspired outfit?), she's too frightened being surrounded by so many clones of Black 80s Mod Chick, Hispanic 80s mod chick and Pink Haired Goth Girl that she can't respond. Cameron is dancing with some guy in glasses, who then leaves to go backstage while the Bratz are still performing.

Dylan hits on the new girl while Cameron watches on like Dylan is the master of girl charming or whatever (Have either of you washed those Pretty N Punk Clothes since you left London?), I wasn't actually watching Dylan crash and burn as I was distracted by the three Hispanic 80s mod chicks dancing at the same time in that shot. The new girl is very eloquent though.

Backstage, Surfer Dude helps out while the Bratz are still hyped from the adrenaline of performing live. Matt Rock comes over to Jade, he tells her she was hot on stage (Despite looking like somebody who would be convicted of statutory rape if he pursued this relationship) and she says he was hot on stage too, except he wasn't on stage. Poor Jade! She's embarrassed forever now.

Luckily, Matt still asks her out (Okay, seriously, did they not notice that Jade is standing right there infront of Matt when they animated that "Matt Rock is vain!" scene where Jade is teleported next to Cloe so they can cringe at Matt's vainness which Jade isn't supposed to notice yet?).

Sasha is chugging down a huge family size bottle of water when new girl crashes into her guitar. Sasha tells her it's okay since the guitar is fine and calls her shoes wicked, which new girl thinks means they're posessed or something. Sasha doesn't bother pursuing it and suddenly starts playing guitar (To make sure it's okay, I guess?). New girl sees a weird shadow in the hall and runs off, leaving Sasha and Jade dumbfounded.

The shadow is actually just the concert security, who knows that new girl hasn't paid her cover charge for the concert. He sees her and a chase ensues. New girl uses her 'turn into a gas' thing to escape and since the movie is called "Bratz Genie Magic", I'm pretty sure the entire audience knows she's the genie now. Outside where the club suddenly has people waiting outside (It did stop raining I guess) the new girl runs off.

Only Six Faces Check: Blonde Boyband Member, Surfer Dufe, 90s Retro Girl, 80s Retro Girl and All Three Vegan Girls.

Later that night when the club is closed a car filled with the clone spies from the opening scene pulls up. They go in and ask for new girl, who isn't there. The club promoter tries to get them to leave, but instead he and his security get beat up.

At the Bratz Magazine loft (Which has been renovated) Cloe, Yasmin and Jade are watching a horror movie starring Matt Rock (Who really sucks) and Redheaded Vegan Chick (she's an actress? Cool!). From the looks of it, Cloe is supposed to be studying. The movie is interrupted by a Weather Alert, scaring Yasmin and Jade out of their pants. Nigel has gained a mid-western accent and is now an American news anchor, who says there's freak weather all over the world and nobody knows why. This is oddly relevant to current world affairs. Instead of listening to the report, Jade is enamored with Matt Rock's "acting".

After the news report that is actually extremely strange, Cloe shows no empathy or self-preservation, she only cares about acing her Geography test. Yasmin tells her to stop whining and study, earning every viewers respect. Sasha makes an appearance (In a new pair of shoes), as she's black, she's not allowed to talk about things that aren't hip hop for more than seven seconds, so she goes right ahead; B-hip radio is hosting an internship (Guys, stop doing these things, everybody you intern for hates you) for a teen DJ and Sasha is ready to take over the airwaves. She's sure she'll get it since nobody knows tunes like her or has her 'scintillating delivery'. Okaaaay...

Yasmin reminds her to take an umbrella since it won't stop raining, with a heartfelt piano ditty, Yasmin looks tearfully out the window and feels sorry for all the stray animals out there. Aside from the fact that most animals that live till today are perfectly adapted to the rain aside from newborns, I think the correct term is "Wild" animals, strays are pets Yas.

On the ship that the new girl left now established as ESA headquarters, where Kon is talking about how he's destroying entire ecosystems and this is somehow not causing the death of millions. Everyone has agreed to his demands, except for France Zell reminds him. He's confident they'll give in. An old Russian man comes in asking about his daughter with a bottle in his hands and Kon tells him they're doing their best. Sebastien tells Kon that she needs to come back to her bottle or she'll grow weak, Zell tries to comfort him and he mentions that every wish she's ever given will be undone if she doesn't come back to her bottle. This alarms Zell and Kon.

At Stiles High the Bratz run into new girl again, she tells us her name; Katia. Still very formal, she asks what the school cafeteria is. After a few weird looks from the girls, she tells them that she was home schooled. The girls decide to give her a tour of the school but Katia sees the spy clones and runs off. Yasmin correctly guesses that they're not the new substitute teachers and at Sasha's command they go after Katia. At some lockers Jade tells a jock to help them stay away from the "Bad Fashion Freaks", but he's quickly knocked over. They duck into the Fashion Classroom and the clones are successfully thrown off. The Bratz try to catch their breath when they notice Katia sticking to the roof like a bohemian Spiderman. She tells them she climbed and they believe her, how quaint.

Sasha asks for answers and Katia tells them she ran from her strict father. Cloe shows her sensitive side...

Cloe: "You ran away from home? You're going to be a homeless person! With no shower, no make-up and you'll just get smellier and smellier-" -Sasha covers her mouth-

Sasha still wants to know why the clones are after her and Katia explains that they're US agents as Katia and her father stay at a government installation with the ESA. Jade likes her clothes, Katia is happy she does but is angry that she's not allowed to wear make-up. We flashback to a fight where Sebastian won't allow face paint because it's dumb. Can't call him wrong. He talks to Katia about the benefits of their work she's too busy tuning him out. It's sad really, I mean, if the ESA wasn't evil (Once again, if you're looking to not be spoiled, why this liveblog?), Katia would really be helping people and she is being really selfish... Jade tells her she should at least let her father know she's safe, but Katia asks for two more days of freedom so she can see what it means to be a real teenager.

The girls are okay with that plan and Cloe tells her she'll need somewhere to stay, so they're throwing a sleepover at Cloe's. Katia is excited over this development, she's always wanted to live like somebody from 90210!

Is Katia going to be hip and happening? Are the ESA going to get her back? What Sleepover outfits will the Bratz girls be wearing? Are we actually going to see any Genie Magic? Find out when the Bratz Megaliveblog thing returns!
