So far, Stone Ocean seems to be pretty good. The main characters have interesting personalities, and even the minor villains get actual characterization (unlike the Part 3 villains, who are mostly just generically arrogant and sadistic). The overall plot so far mainly seems to be a way of tying the Stand battles together, but at least there's some sense of progress toward a goal; the lack of that sense of progress marred Part 4 prior to Kira's appearance. There's a couple clumsy retcons, but that's a Necessary Weasel in Long-Runners (and Parts 3-5 had even more clumsy retcons).
