That's not a "split" jaw, just a vertically-oriented mouth. In Real Life, this is the status quo for insects, arachnids and the like, but most larger, vertebrate species (the kinds we associate with) have the typical "upper/lower jaw" mouths. Which makes the "left/right mandible" mouth orientation all the more disturbing.

Since I have nothing to add, I'll just point out that creature is missing an a. </pedant>

Split-jawed is bit better as split-lip is just beginning on this trope.

    • Sand Worms usually have a ring of jaws, opening like flower petals.

Some have called this "Vagina Mouth", but for the Google situation, I don't think that should even be a redirect.

Some have called it Sideways Mouth, and that is what I suggest. Splitting lips and jaws are actual terms for Real Life injuries and conditions, so they would make confusion for this.

sidways mouth makes it sound like the mouth opens only sidways instead of verticley and horisontaly

You mean it's like the jaw can be opened both horizontally and vertically? Or something?

    Yes both horizontally and vertically.

Has a good chance of overlapping with More Teeth Than The Osmond Family. See also Lamprey Mouth and Nested Mouths for other kind of weird mouths.
