Simple, really. When orcs all have green skin. Basically, not LOTR variable-color orcs.

Examples: World of Warcraft, Elder Scrolls, D&D, anything that has non-Tolkien style orcs. The reason I don't include The Hobbit or LOTR is because Azog is pale white, and so is the Orc chief Gothmog.

Not sure this is a trope so much as a list of orcs that are green and orcs that aren't (and we already have Our Orcs Are Different).

Heck, even the Lot R orcs as depicted by the Brothers Hildebrandt were green-skinned!

Not to mention that The Elder Scrolls orcs have shades of brown among available skin tones, and D&D orcs and half-orcs are generally described as gray, not green. Warcraft orcs were always green until The Frozen Throne, but I seem to recall brown orcs being available in World of Warcraft.

I don't really see a trope here. Perhaps if it were something like green-skinned enemy, but not just a specific race is always depicted as green. It might not be People Sit On Chairs, but pretty close.

We already have Our Orcs Are Different and I don't see the need for a subtrope centered around color. Motion to discard seconded.

In the original Bakshi LOTR animated movie in the 1970's, this was pretty much the case. There was, even then, a range of official tie-in gaming figures was on sale (even before Games Workshop, and cast in metal to the limitations of the day, much cruder). Received wisdom for painting these - extrapolated from minimal information in the books - was that they should be painted black-skinned or dark grey-brown. people painting them a leprous green, and there were some, were thought of as weirdly eccentric. It is interesting that in the recent film adaptation, they could be any colour you liked other than black!

World Of Warcraft does not have all green orcs! They can also be brown or yellowish.

Turn this into a supertrope about green-skinned monsters and you might have something that encompasses various types of orcs, goblins, and reptile-inspired baddies.
