Ridiculously Tight Bed Tucking
A character is trapped in bed after being tucked in too tightly
A Comedy trope. A character is tucked into bed so tightly, they are unable to get out by themselves.
- In one episode of What's New, Scooby-Doo?, the gang visits a military base. Shaggy and Scooby are tucked in so tightly by the staff that when the monster attacks during the night, they need to cut themselves out with a knife.
- In The Simpsons episode, "Lisa the Greek", after getting closer to his daughter, Homer tucks Lisa into bed. It's pretty obvious he doesn't do it too often:
Lisa (to Marge): Could you loosen my blanket a little? Dad tucked me in too tight, and it's cutting off the circulation in my arms and legs.
- In one episode of Malcolm in the Middle, a burglar climbs through the window of Hal and Lois' bedroom. Hal tries to get up to defend them, but becomes entangled in the covers and falls on the ground, leaving Reese to knock the burglar out. When recounting the story to the police, Hal explains that the reason he didn't stop the burglar himself was because Lois had tucked him in so tightly he couldn't move.
