Do We Have This One??

It just seems to be present in an awful lot of things. Wherever there is a balloon, there will be a child who loses theirs, and most likely a hero on hand to save the day by using their flight/telekinesis/density adjustment powers/really long arms to present it back to the child.

Well, there was the hot air balloon variant in The Wizard Of Oz if that counts.

There's a couple of examples in Peanuts that may or may not count. Lucy spends most of a Sunday strip calling for her balloon to come back to no avail, and in another strip Sally tells her balloon to come back to her. (I seem to recall a strip where that succeeded, which may or may not be the same one, or the one following.)

In My Lovely Kanna, Kanna, being a ghost, is able to fly up and pull the balloon back to the kid.

    Also that Green Day poster.

Something close I've seen is where a child follows their loose balloon, and hence wonder into a dangerous environment, such as onto a railtrack, or building site.
