Do we have this?

When fans of a book choose (or have a very heavy role in choosing) the cast members for various roles in the movie adaptation.

I'm not entirely sure this trope exists as-written. "Fan-casting" is usually applied more towards fans choosing amongst themselves in more of a "fantasy casting" sense.

As written, this makes it sound as though the final decision rests in the hands of the fans, which to my knowledge (and feel free to correct me if I'm wrong), rarely (if ever) happens. There have been a few times where individuals favored by the fans do get cast, but it's highly questionable as to whether the fans' favoritism played a significant role in the casting or whether they simply were the best person for the job (see: Patrick Stewart as Professor X, Christian Bale as Bruce Wayne/Batman, or Ray Park as Snake-Eyes).

Though I'm tempted to try creating a trope entitled "Nathan Fillion Can Play Anyone" for the number of times his name comes up in fantasy-casting scenarios... (I kid, I kid)

^That last bit could actually be a good idea. It does involve Nathan Fillion, after all. Mmmmm...

Discarding as non-trope with no real examples.
