Because I'm Listening

Reason a character talks to another about something they'd normally keep private.

This is the answer to the rhetorical question asked by some characters when they realize that they're talking about something private (and usually painful). The question is "Why am I talking to you about this?"

Examples: seaQuest DSV Pilot - Nathan Bridger talking to the hologram professor about his feelings surrounding the death of his family and how he feels being at sea.

Megatokyo # 832 (www.megatokyo.com/strip/832) - Erika asks Largo the question - but he'd never answer it.

^ Expanding on that, we're interested in the meaning behind things, not just specific phrases used. I don't see how this would be distinct from The Confidant.

Taking a look at [1], it appears that this is substantially similar. Discarding.
