Ornamental Weapon

Dunno if we have this one already, but...

A character has a weapon that they carry around with them, but is rarely ever actually seen using, maybe because it has some sort of sentimental value to them, or just because they find it Too Awesome to Use.

The example that made me think of this trope: Angeal from Crisis Core -Final Fantasy VII-. He carries a gigantic Buster Sword around him on missions, but only maybe uses it once or twice (from what I've seen). Zack even comments on it during the mission in Fort Tamblin (dialogue not exact):
Zack: I've never actually seen you use that thing. Don't you think it's kind of a waste?
Angeal: Use brings about wear, tear, and rust -- and that's a real waste.
