Similar to the Horrorscope and the Misfortune Cookie, Tarot-no (pronounced Tare-Oh-No) occurs when someone's tarot card reading proclaims that they're doomed.

More often than not, Tarot-no readings will involves the ever-dreaded Death Card.

  • In The Vision of Escaflowne, Millerna asks Hitomi (who is known for her clairvoyant talents) to ask Tarot about her impending marriage to Drydan. Hitomi reads the cards and discovers that the wedding will turn into a disaster, but since she is Millerna's Unknown Rival for Allen's affections (and hence wants Millerna safely married off), she attempts to cheat fate and replace the card with one promising happiness before Millerna can see them. It doesn't really work out and the wedding is crashed by half of Zaibach's army.

  • In Scary Stories 3: More Tales to Chill Your Bones, one story involves a farmer getting a Tarot reading saying his favorite horse will cause him to die. He gives away the horse, who later dies. When the farmer goes to pay his last respects to his favorite horse, a snake living in its skull bites him and kills him.
