Wake Up Bang Head

Waking up without the necessary headroom can lead to headaches

A character wakes up suddenly...and instantly runs afoul of a low ceiling, the bunk above them or possibly even a coffin lid.

A classic physical gag seen in numerous works, usually to demonstrate that the character in question is about to have a really, really bad day.

Can also turn into a running gag for really unfortunate sleepers.

  • The captain's cabin on Havenite Courier Boats in the Honorverse is built in an inconvenient corner of the ship due to space constraints, making this a regular occurence for courier skippers. The shipbuilders are aware of this and have added padding to the trouble spot...
