pirate kingdom

Name Space:
Page Type:
A large group of criminals living with a vague recognition of a monarch or ruler, similar to a gang but more mobile. They may or may not have a base on land, but they are always out of reach of the governing body, whereas a gang operates right under their nose. Usually operate as a hit and run unit, pillaging villages on the coast or disrupting unsuspecting military ships, or outright stealing trading ones. I'm kind of new to this, so I'm not sure if I've done this correctly at all. Thoughts?

Thoughts: You've described the trope pretty well, but it helps convince people that something is tropeworthy to have at least one example on hand when you post it.

I think there's already a YKTTW underway with the tentative title "And The Forty Thieves." The only difference I see is that your criminals respect a governor of some type, whereas Forty Thieves have only a Baddest Baddie. Regrets, Motion To Discard. :(

Okay, thanks for your help. I'll take a look at the other YKTTW, and I'll post examples next time (pirates of the Caribbean, with the nine pirate lords as the rulers)
