Here's an index of tropes that deal with good people being what is totally not expected of them, or at least isn't what we want them to be. This could make a lot of Moral Guardians complain about this morality.

Contrast Hidden Evil.

On Actions And Results
- Cruel To Be Kind: To show kindness to others, you must be cruel.
- No Good Deed Goes Unpunished: Doing good things is punishable by law.
- Shoot The Dog: Good guys doing morally grey actions because it has to be done.
- Tough Love: To make your children better people, you must treat them like trash.
On Children
- Kid Hero: Isn't he too young to be a hero?
- Naughty Is Good: Aren't good kids supposed to be nice and well-behaved?
On Criminals
- Lovable Rogue: Why does everyone see that felon as a hero?
- Neighbourhood Friendly Gangsters: Why are these gangsters seen as heroic?
On Darkness
- Dark Is Not Evil: Usually, goodness is aligned with light. Not with this character.
  - The Sacred Darkness: Darkness is really a good thing.
- Friendly Neighborhood Vampire: Aren't vampires usually considered evil?
On Heroes
- Anti Hero: How can they be good if they lack the qualities of a hero?
- Byronic Hero: This hero has a LOT of issues.
- Classical Anti Hero: Good people are expected to have high confidence in themselves.
- Designated Hero: Is this character really good?
- Hero Antagonist: The good guy is expected to be the protagonist.
- Hero With An F In Good: Being a good guy should be easy.
- Mr Vice Guy: These good guys don't have a lot of virtues.
- Knight In Sour Armor: Aren't good guys usually cheerful in doing good?
- Nominal Hero: How are they considered good if they don't have any virtuous motivations?
- Pragmatic Hero: Good guys are too extreme in their goals.
On Honesty
- Beware The Honest Ones: Honest people are harder to predict than dishonest people.
- Brutal Honesty: Since telling the truth is seen as a moral thing, why does it have to be cruel and unpleasant?
- Guile Hero: Heroes aren't supposed to manipulate people.
On Intelligence
- Good Cannot Comprehend Evil: Aren't good people supposed to have knowledge of how evil works?
- Good Is Dumb: Good people are supposed to be wise.
- Honor Before Reason: Heroes doing stupid things because it's right.
On Law
- Chaotic Good: Aren't good guys supposed to follow the rules?
- Screw The Rules Im Doing Whats Right: Breaking the law is the right thing to do, huh?
On Mannerisms
- Good Is Not Nice: Good guys aren't supposed to be Jerkasses. Those fit the bad guys.
- Socially Awkward Hero: Good people are supposed to be social.
On Mercy
- Cruel Mercy: Letting someone off the hook so they can suffer an even worse punishment.
- Pay Evil Unto Evil: Doing bad things to bad people makes you good.
On Moral Principles
- Being Good Sucks: Usually, doing good things are beneficial.
- Blue And Orange Morality: These good guys sure have a strange morality.
- Good Flaws Bad Flaws: A good guy should be morally spotless, right?
- Good Needs Evil: Good guys are supposed to hate evil. Why does it need it?
- Good Is Boring: Because Evil Is Cool.
- Good Smoking Evil Smoking: Smoking is usually considered immoral.
- Hero With Bad Publicity: Why aren't these good guys beloved and respected?
- Protagonist Centered Morality: How can this character remain good for doing the same things evil characters do which is wrong.
On Physical Appearance
- Creepy Good: There's something about the good guy that's...frightening.
- Horrifying Hero: The main hero is creepy looking.
- Ugly Hero Good Looking Villain: Evil Makes You Ugly doesn't apply this trope.
On Powers
- Bad Powers Good People: Heroes are supposed to have good-natured powers.
- Destructive Savior: Saving the day by causing a lot of destruction.
- Good Is Impotent: Because The Bad Guys Win.
- Redemption Demotion: Joining the side of good makes a person weaker?
On Prejudice
- Noble Bigot: Good guys aren't supposed to act like racists.
  - Noble Bigot With A Badge: Neither should cops.
- Politically Incorrect Hero: This hero is really a prejudice.
On Redemption
- Reformed But Rejected: Joining the side of good cause you to get mistreated by the good guys.
  - Heel Face Door Slam: That guy was going to turn good. Why did they kill him?
On Religion
- Anti Antichrist: This evil apocalypse weapon is our hero?
- Dark Shepherd: Should this person inspire us to be good instead of scaring us?
- Holy Is Not Safe: Aren't holy things supposed to be helpful instead of dangerous?
- Omniscient Morality License: How can a good divine being get the freedom of being a complete douchebag?
- Nun Too Holy: Aren't nuns supposed to be virtuous?
  - Naughty Nuns: Aren't nuns supposed to be chaste?
- Satan Is Good: Satan isn't the ultimate evil after all.
- Secular Hero: Usually, good people are expected to be religious.
- Scary Amoral Religion: How can a religion like that be considered good?
On Settings
- Beware The Superman: Being around a superhero should be safe, right?
- Black And Grey Morality: Those bitter, bloodthirsty heroes are fighting for us?
On Sexuality
- Celibate Hero: Why would a hero turn down romantic relationships?
- Ethical Slut: Aren't good people sexually pure?
  - Chivalrous Pervert and Handsome Lech: These perverts are our heroes?
  - Good Bad Girl and Hooker With A Heart Of Gold: These sluts are our heroines?
- Good Adultery Bad Adultery: When did adultery became a good thing?
On Teammates
- Ascended Demon: Why is an Always Chaotic Evil creature on the side of good?
- Headbutting Heroes: Aren't good guys supposed to get along with each other?
- Sociopathic Hero: Why are sociopaths on the side of good?
- Token Good Teammate: Why is a good guy on the side of villains?
On Violence
- Beware The Nice Ones: Nice guys don't usually resort to violence.
- Exalted Torturer: How is torturing others considered good?
- Good Is Not Soft: Aren't good guys supposed to solve conflicts with peace?
- Would Be Rude To Say Genocide: Killing millions of people is presented as good?
