I noticed that G-Rated Drug
has drifted a lot in meaning since its description was written. As described, it's targeted at how 'soft,' fairly low-key drugs are used for stories when more scandalous ones would make more sense. But the examples show a lot of cases with things that aren't considered drugs at all, in the real world, being used as a Does This Remind You of Anything?
in kids' TV and movies--like addiction to ice cream, or milk having the effects of alcohol.
I think drug-we-can-actually-mention-on-TV and cheap-stand-in-for-a-controlled-substance might warrant a split. Am I crazy?
