I got nothing. It's best to come up with a trope then the name.

Yeah, ever since the Title Bin got cut, names without tropes are not in vogue anymore...

A character fails because of his weakness, which causes him to realize that he's on the wrong path?

How about a hero is forced to do something because of the threat of hitting his weakness?

Say Bob has a self destruct button. Big bad says that he will press the self destruct button unless Bob works with him. This can work on the inverse, too.

^ But that would be Forced Into Evil.

    • Remember, it works in reverse as well. This would be in general.

I think there's a fun Darth Wiki page for trope name portmanteaus. Crowning Moment Of Awesome Yet Impractical and stuff like that.

How about when a decent person is forced to do something despicable or compromising because the enemy is exploiting their weakness. Not necessarily "forced into evil" but say "a bank manager is forced to open the vault because the criminals have his kids at gun point". Thats all I can think of.

This is clearly a terrible way to go about building a page but that ^ actually does sound like a trope, one that might actually work well with this name. I can already think of a couple examples, from Fringe and The Dark Knight.

    ^^ Isn't that I Have Your Wife?

Maybe, but in I Have Your Wife, it's the hero, and we never really consider him having "gone bad." But there are examples where we see other characters undoing genuine Heel Face Turns and then later hear their somewhat sympathetic justifications.

Sounds like Death Equals Redemption to me.

@saintdane05: You should have posted a new reply instead of editing mine... YKTTW works differently from the main wiki.

Um, I think you have Heel Face Turn and Face Heel Turn backward. (Heel = bad guy.)

Three days must pass before this YKTTW is Launchworthy or Discardable
