** The [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Sfm0SEB6mw4 season one English ending]]. The [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UUodwdFwql0 season one Japanese opening is also great]].
** The [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hGu3hxxt-WQ season two English opening.]] And the Japanese OP for series 2 as well, which was sung by Ritsuko Owada, a singer and voice actress primarily known for recording children's music.
* GatewaySeries: In two senses. Many children (especially in Japan, where the series and its sister show Anime/FlyingHouse were shown in church youth groups) counted this as their introduction to Literature/TheBible. Outside of Japan, some viewers cite ''Superbook'' as an introduction to the art style of anime, regardless of whether or not they were receptive to the preaching.
* GermansLoveDavidHasselhoff: The anime was popular in Japan and remains one of the most widely seen anime series of all time, but likely nowhere was it more popular than in Ukraine, where it was used as in evangelistic tool in the years after the Soviet Union collapsed and became something of a cultural phenomenon. The show's broadcast there was interspersed with live-action "Superbook Club" segments complete with a real-life, animatronic Gizmo. Superbook Club continues to this day but now reflects the American CGI reboot, with Gizmo's character design changed accordingly.
* HarsherInHindsight: In season one Japanese/Italian ending credits, Chris, Joy and Gizmo, after scolding Ruffles for interrupting their walk, walk on, never noticing that they left Ruffles behind. It gets worse in season two when they let Ruffles transported into the computer.
* HilariousInHindsight: Joy's last name in the English dub is Quantum, which becomes the last name of Chris and his family in [[WesternAnimation/Superbook2011 the CGI reboot]], with anime Chris's surname of "Peeper" being changed to "Pepper" and given to Joy instead.
* NightmareFuel: Lot's wife ([[NamedByTheAdaptation named Elda in this version]]) being turned into a pillar of salt in episode 2 of the second series.
* ToyShip: Chris and Joy.
* ValuesDissonance: Being an anime about AdventuresInTheBible, it would be hard not to run into this trope on occasion, but it can be [[WhatDoYouMeanItsForKids jarring for modern audiences nonetheless]].
