* CaptainObviousReveal: Marty being the Killer. Seeing how ridiculously obvious the {{foreshadowing}} is, the fact he is the only suspect and how he wears a mask for most of the movie, you'd be forgiven to expect a twist by having the killer be someone else. But no, it really ''is'' him. Mocked by WebVideo/BrandonsCultMovieReviews:
-->(Every time a piece of obvious foreshadowing happens, said with fake surprise) Holy shit, I think Marty might be the killer!
%%* EthnicScrappy: Digby.
* HarsherInHindsight: Marty's mistreatment by his classmates becomes even more disturbing when you realize Simon Scuddamore, the actor who played him, committed suicide shortly after the film's release. Granted, it didn't have anything to do with bullying.
* {{Narm}}: After Marty crashes through a window, the FinalGirl, Carol, throws a javelin at him, which misses. She does this so half-heartedly that it's funny. She doesn't even TRY to actually finish him off. Meaning, in retrospect, she WAS really asking for her own death.
* NauseaFuel: Ted's guts spilling out after he drinks a poisoned can of beer, and Shirley melting in the acid bath.
* OneSceneWonder: Coach in the scenes set in past, who has a no-nonsense attitude towards the students' shenanigans.
* ParanoiaFuel: Ted drinks an innocuous-looking can of beer, which causes his guts to melt.
* RetroactiveRecognition: Billy Hartman, who played Frank, would go on to portray Terry Woods in ''Series/{{Emmerdale}}''.
* RootingForTheEmpire: Because they all had a part in pointlessly tormenting Marty, it's hard to care about the main cast.
* SoBadItsGood: Given that it’s a cheesy 80’s slasher B-movie, this is inevitable. The horrible acting, SpecialEffectFailure, and NightmareRetardant death scenes easily place the movie in this category.
* TooBleakStoppedCaring: The bullies are all unrepentant scumbags that blame Marty the first chance they get when they get caught, and Marty murders innocent people at the mental hospital he's in for no good reason before vowing to take revenge. By the end, the movie leaves you wondering who you're supposed to root for in the first place.
* UnintentionallyUnsympathetic: It's clear the audience is supposed to sympathize with Marty because he was not only ruthlessly bullied, but had his face burnt and mutilated. However, he loses all sympathy when he starts killing innocent people in the hospital, as mentioned above.
